The genus Lychnis, or Dawn (Lychnis), from the clove family has more than 40 species, and about 10 species are used in garden practice. These are perennial rhizomatous plants with erect stems and oval-pointed or lanceolate pubescent leaves.
Two seas come together here; the Indian Ocean and the Atlantic. It simmers and foams. The rocks stand rugged in the surf and remind the skippers of countless ship disasters. The land is wild and beautiful. Hyrax scurry over the rocks and whales come in to make love.
Taken along a trail somewhere in the mountains, I don’t no the name of it but very pretty. If anyone knows it’s name I would love to know?
Starling and Blackbird fighting over mealworms that I had put out for them. Although it looks like the starling is the aggressor it was actually the blackbird, he wanted all the mealworms for himself. The battle lasted for a few minutes, with the blackbird taking on all comers until the female blackbird arrived when surprisingly instead of joining in with the male she went for him and he just turned tail and flew away. Just goes to show, Never argue with a woman!!!!!
