She leans out, not to flee, but to assess. To document. To evaluate the state of her world as it sinks.

I placed the figure in the nave of a place that once promised salvation. She kneels, not in worship, but in mourning.

The sacred isn’t missing. It’s watching and it’s no longer benign.

The bloodied hands breach the seal of a door built to impress, not to protect. The satchel, once utilitarian, now seems animate strained and warped from carrying too much for too long.

This work questions what happens when inheritance is not an heirloom but a wound. What do we do with the parts of our story that can’t be put back behind closed doors? “Legacy Rot” doesn’t offer a resolution. It only insists on confrontation.*

“The Forecast is Controlled” explores the illusion of autonomy in our emotional weather. The mouse is not free-floating it is suspended by threads, held aloft by the very cloud that rains upon it. The golden trumpet is clutched not in resistance but as an attempt at agency, at beauty, even as the performance is dictated by forces far larger.

This piece plays with themes of control, performance, and emotional climate. It asks: what if the storm wasn’t circumstantial, but choreographed? It’s a portrait of invisible hands, of gentle defiance, of finding small brass instruments to voice something in the downpour.
