A Girl And Some Tunes: The Girl On The Run

She's on the run, trying to escape something or someone she can't even remember.
She's been running along this railroad for hours. She's so tired, she needs to rest. She decides to sit down for a while.
As time passes she's getting dreamy and forget she's trying to escape.
She finally decides to go on. She gets back on her feet and takes a look at the horizon. The sun is now fading as the night begins to fall.
She's looking straight ahead, it's now time to leave. Whatever she may find, it could not be worst.
She's turning back one last time to take a look at what she leaves.
Everything is now forgotten and forgiven. She will walk away into the night and embrace a new life.
This is the end of this episode. Now you just have to wait for another chapter in the A Girl And Some Tunes series ;)

She's a young witch. She's going through the last test before becoming a confirmed mistress of dark magic. The test consists of going into an old cemetery and using the book of the dead in order to awake the dead in this place. Will she manage to bring back the dead ones to life?
As she enters more deeply in the cemetery, she feels the presence of the dead souls. She must wait for the day to fade away before performing her ritual.
The small cemetery may feel creepy for most people, but not for her. She feels some pressure, if she fails this test, she will join the dead in their graves.
As she takes a few minutes to think about all this, the sorrow and the grief of the dead soul starts to to weigh heavily on her shoulders.
Now all her hesitation is gone, she begins to walk through the place and open the bewitched book. The dusk is near.
As she opens the book and starts to read the first sumerian sentences she starts to hear the sound of the departed.
She looks upon the falling night, maybe it's the last time she can live this moment.
She stands and keeps on reading, but she feels like she does not need to look the book, the words just pops into her mind like it comes from nowhere. She begins to think she's a bit insane...

A young woman found an old lantern in her deceased grand mother's attic. During her childhood she often told her this lantern was magic, and forbid her to touch it because she claimed it was dangerous.
Now she had received it as an inheritance, she decides ta take a walk at night in the woods with the lantern. "Maybe a genie of the lamp will appear" she thinks as she enters the woods.
She hears some strange noises coming from a small river that runs near the edge of the woods. She approaches the riverside to take a look at it...

I am thrilled to announce the next edition of the international, english language, online version of the portrait and lighting workshop I've been teaching in my country for so long, and in this way in the last couple of years.
THE CLASSES.
There will be five weekly, three hour classes (including break), on Saturdays, starting from August 5th. They will be at 5 PM GMT, which should be workable for people in both North America and Europe (for people in farther time zones... all I can say is it's once a week!).
There will be a closed Facebook group with examples and other materials, and a weekly portrait exercise based on a theme from the previous class, for all to shoot, post and discuss.
All classes will be recorded and made available for those who can't attend one or several.
CONTENTS
In these five classes we will focus on the natural and available light side of things. We will cover different kinds of natural light, how to find it, shape it, improve it and take advantage of, indoors and outdoors. And subjects of narrative, color, composition, the role of lenses and focal lengths, and how all this applies to the core - what and who to shoot, where, how, and even why. In the last class we will have an introduction (it's one class) to portrait post-production in Adobe Lightroom.

She's a young woman and she's a vampire hunter. Lately she heard those vampire monsters attacked a colony in wild territories. She decided to travel to this place to see if she can do something about it. But when she arrives, she realizes the worst may already have happened.
As she enters the building, she feels the air getting cold.
It seems that there's no sign of life left here.
She suddenly hears some noise, so she decides to search the place.
She finds nothing, but there's still a big room that she must check.
As soon as she arrives in this last room she feels an evil presence. A weird blue fire starts in the fireplace behind her.
An ugly ghoul emerges from the fire, but she quickly draws her blade and cuts its head off.
She killed the ghoul who was guarding the place, but as soon as the suns will go down she knows that there will be opponents more dangerous than this one.
As the night finishes to fall, she stands at the center of the colony, waiting for the vampires to awake. She starts to hear strange sounds like insects' noises. Will it be her last battle? Or will they have to face their end? Let your imagination decides!
Now you just have to wait fore another episode!

She's a young woman whose parents died in a tragic and mysterious accident. So she decided to come back in their old mansion where she was raised during her childhood. The place was lonely since their death.
As soon as she enters the place, nostalgia invades her. Her childhood memories resurface. She had so many great times here, she can't help feeling a bit sad.
She sits down for a moment, and she starts staring into space. Now she owns it all but there's something she feels weird about it.
These last years the time went too fast, she hadn't spend much time with her parents. She feels a bit guilty about it.
After a while, she decides to make herself comfortable and she climbs the stairs to see the view up on the balcony.
She remembers the view from this particular place of the mansion has always been stunning. And if one thing is sure right now, it still remains the way it used to be.
She lived so many great times here, playing here with her sister in these big stairs. She misses those times.
But as she vanishes from her sweet memories, again she really feels something wrong here. This time she thinks she saw someone hiding on the other balcony, back on the other side of this big room.
But now she is more cautious, it seems there's some noise coming on the left from her back...

As the night falls, she goes upstairs in her old bedroom. She's so tired tired, maybe the sweet memories from her childhood will help her to find some sleep.
She falls asleep in a minute. When she awakes in the morning, a nice dawn light illuminates the room, blending with the bedside light left on during the whole night. But as she rises on the bed, she notices there's someone in front of her. She immediately knows that he's the guy who's been spying on her since she arrived. But now she sees him, she does not fear him, his face seems friendly...
What will happen? Who's is the guy? Let your imagination decides!

She's a freelance spy and thief living during the 60's. People used to hire her to steal intelligence or goods, she doesn't care on which purpose. But this time it's a special case that makes her curious.
She's been paid to steal this briefcase. She usually doesn't want to know what her clients will do with the stolen goods, but she feels this time it's something very unique.
She sits down and lights a cigarette. She knows she can break the lock code in the blink of an eye, but she wonders if it's the right thing to do.
A few minutes passes and she makes her decision, even if she knows she can't back down.
Within seconds she manages to open the briefcase. But as she opens it, the room is plunged into the dark, and the briefcase starts to emit strange lights.
As the light turns to gold, she feels hypnotized, and she can't turn her eyes off the briefcase. What's really in it? Will she manage to come out of this form of catharsis?

She gets off her motorcycle and observes the place around. This is dusk so everything seems to be quiet, the facility must be desert.
She easily get into the building without firing any alarm. Her client wants these old 16mm films. The boxes seem to be made during the 70's or the 60's but there's no indication about their content written on it.
Anyway she must hurry if she wants to leave the place without being noticed. And her client wants the "package" immediately after the robbery. So she quickly gets on her bike.
She starts her motorcycle using the silent motor mode and leaves the place not without having a last look around. This place is so weird, what scientists could study in this facility?

As she enters more deeply in the cemetery, she feels the presence of the dead souls. She must wait for the day to fade away before performing her ritual.
The small cemetery may feel creepy for most people, but not for her. She feels some pressure, if she fails this test, she will join the dead in their graves.
As she takes a few minutes to think about all this, the sorrow and the grief of the dead soul starts to to weigh heavily on her shoulders.
Now all her hesitation is gone, she begins to walk through the place and open the bewitched book. The dusk is near.

A young woman found an old lantern in her deceased grand mother's attic. During her childhood she often told her this lantern was magic, and forbid her to touch it because she claimed it was dangerous.
Now she had received it as an inheritance, she decides ta take a walk at night in the woods with the lantern. "Maybe a genie of the lamp will appear" she thinks as she enters the woods.
She hears some strange noises coming from a small river that runs near the edge of the woods. She approaches the riverside to take a look at it.
She sees nothing, the night has become too dark. She decides to enter the woods, even if it will be darker there, there will be no more risk of falling into the water.
After walking during a while into the woods, she finds a rock where she can sit. But as soon as she is sitting down, the noises are coming back. She looks carefully but she can't find any direction where it might come from...

The "21" is one of America’s most famous speakeasies from the Prohibition Era. It officially opened on January 1, 1930. Everyone believed that it was a man who runs at the time. But a girl ruled the place. Now let's follow her story...
Running a joint like this was not an easy job during those times. But she was a firm-handed woman.
She has to know every dirty little secret of every politician, cop, or journalist in the town. Now she's waiting for a very important call from one of these men.
The phone rings as she drinks a shot of whiskey. The man on the phone tells her someone wants to murder her.
As she puts down the phone she pours herself another shot. She wonders how someone could dare to threat her life?
This is a special episode, made for the 7th birthday of the "A Girl And Some Tunes" series. The story takes place during the prohibition era. Enjoy it!

She is an occult detective. She was born with the power to see angels and demons. She has committed suicide at age 15 after being unable to cope with her visions. She was revived by paramedics but she has spent two minutes in Hell. She knows that because of her actions her soul is condemned to damnation when she dies. She has recently learned that she has developed cancer as a result of her smoking habit.
She knows she is the one soul Satan would come to Earth personally to collect. But she also knows that if she kills one particular demon, she can have a reprieve from death. So she came to this damned district to find this demon.
As soon as she arrives, she can't resist to light a cigarette.
The smoke fills her lungs and makes her more confident for this desperate battle.
She finishes her cigarette and her instinct tells her to go to an old abbey park in the district.
She also feels that there will some demonic presence, but she has her gun holy gun and a bottle of holy water, which can be quite effective on demons.
As she arrives in the abbey park, the wind starts to blow strongly, a way for the demon to mark his presence.
Soon she feels a strong pain in her chest, the cancer is beginning to take over her. She must take a sit, and she tries to regain self control.
She notices there's an evil presence hidden somewhere in the park. That makes her goodwill back, she can not lose this fight. She gets up, lights another cigarette, and holds her holy gun straight, ready to shoot a demon...

She's a young woman whose parents died in a tragic and mysterious accident. So she decided to come back in their old mansion where she was raised during her childhood. The place was lonely since their death.
As soon as she enters the place, nostalgia invades her. Her childhood memories resurface. She had so many great times here, she can't help feeling a bit sad.
She sits down for a moment, and she starts staring into space. Now she owns it all but there's something she feels weird about it.
These last years the time went too fast, she hadn't spend much time with her parents. She feels a bit guilty about it.
After a while, she decides to make herself comfortable and she climbs the stairs to see the view up on the balcony.
She remembers the view from this particular place of the mansion has always been stunning. And if one thing is sure right now, it still remains the way it used to be.
She lived so many great times here, playing here with her sister in these big stairs. She misses those times.
But as she vanishes from her sweet memories, again she really feels something wrong here. This time she thinks she saw someone hiding on the other balcony, back on the other side of this big room.
But now she is more cautious, it seems there's some noise coming on the left from her back.
The noise has stopped, but she can't hold the feeling that someone is spying on her...

She's a burglar specialized in highly risked robberies. People call her the Cat because she always operates at night and never leaves a trace. Tonight she must steal very old 16mm movies in this strange research facility.
She gets off her motorcycle and observes the place around. This is dusk so everything seems to be quiet, the facility must be desert.
She easily get into the building without firing any alarm. Her client wants these old 16mm films. The boxes seem to be made during the 70's or the 60's but there's no indication about their content written on it.
Anyway she must hurry if she wants to leave the place without being noticed. And her client wants the "package" immediately after the robbery. So she quickly gets on her bike.
She starts her motorcycle using the silent motor mode and leaves the place not without having a last look around. This place is so weird, what scientists could study in this facility?
She arrives at the rendez-vous point given by her client but nobody seems to be here...
A new episode in the "A Girl And Some Tunes" series. This one is largely inspired by the fictional character created by Bob Kane, famously known as Catwoman. But i mainly had in mind the Christopher Nolan's interpretation in mind during the shooting.

She looks upon the falling night, maybe it's the last time she can live this moment.
She stands and keeps on reading, but she feels like she does not need to look the book, the words just pops into her mind like it comes from nowhere. She begins to think she's a bit insane.
She feels kind of possessed by the book, like some kind of evil takes the driver's seat into her brain...
