BJP Kisan Morcha National Secretary and Member Iron collection committee of Punjab Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said that today a workshop of all the volunteers for Marathon "Run for Unity" and also involved in collecting iron, mud along with sarpanch photo be held today 9th December 2013 at Law Auditorium, Sector 37, Chandigarh. He said all these volunteers will collect Iron and mud from north Indian states including Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Union Territory Chandigarh. In a press statement here today, Grewal said that Bhupendra Singh chudasama Gujarat education minister, Om Prakash Dhankar National Convenor Loha Campaign, Jagtar Singh Saini, Jatinder Singh Atwal President Kisan Morcha Punjab and volunteers of Citizens for Accountable Governance (CAG) will train the volunteers for Iron and soil along with sarpanch snap collection from villages. Grewal said that in order to impart training and to acquaint the members with the collection of iron and soil for the Statue of Unity , the whole country had been divided into seven zones. He said the workshop in respect of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand would be held at Lucknow on December 10. He said that all members of the state committees and the district co-coordinators’ would participate today workshop.

The second round of BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s ''Chai Pe Charcha" (discussion over tea) will be on the International Women’s Day in India between 4 pm to 6.30 pm. On this occasion here today, in Kishore Nagar ward No 9, Tajpur Road, Ludhiana Grewal told reporters on that the programmes will be also in rural areas, the direct discussion with Narendra Modi would be telecast live across all the centres. He said that the Mahila Morchas have already identified the locations for the discussion and about 200 women are expected to participate in each centre in India. Grewal stated that the discussion of Narendra Modi revolves around three issues ''share, question and suggest." While the women can share the problems they face locally, they can ask questions to Narendra Modi on his views about women empowerment and give suggestions about safety of women. He said the Congress led UPA's Centre Government has utterly failed to assure women’s safety and it is evident in the failure of the police to nab the accused in the ATM attack case despite having the pictures of the accused. Grewal regretted that without any legwork, including recruitment of sufficient women police personnel, the Government has permitted extension of night life. Grewal told that Mahila Morcha organized Chai Pe Charcha interactive session with our BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in the country.

National Secretary BJP Kisan Morcha and Prabhari Himachal Pradesh, Advocate Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal who is on a European Tour of Denmark, Italy and Norway landed here in Denmark and immediately presided over a huge gathering of Indians and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Denmark wing. He thanked everybody for this wonderful reception. Grewal praised the beautiful country of Denmark for providing such great working atmosphere for Indians immigrants who are living happily in the country. It is known that Some 7,000 Indians live in Denmark and the number is growing as Denmark has introduced an attractive Green Card system. Grewal was impressed by the living standards maintained by the country as it is known as the happiest country in the world. Denmark also ranks as having the world's highest social mobility, a high level of income equality, and has one of the world’s highest per capita incomes. For 2013, Denmark is listed 15th on the Human Development Index and 9th on the inequality-adjusted HDI. He added there is so much for India to learn from Denmark and the positives from the society and governance can surely prove good for India too. India’s relations with Denmark have been frozen since 2011 following the Danish High Court ruling against the extradition of Kim Davies in connection with the Purulia arms drop incident of 1995. In a rare display of anger, India then run by the UPA goverment then chaired by Ms Sonia Gandhi froze senior official-level contacts with Denmark, and later tightened visa procedures for Danish tourists and businessmen. Grewal questioned the illogical step taken by the UPA goverment and It is timely to reassess the situation and ask whether it meets our vital interests or not. Grewal added that there are some diplomatic tensions arisen between the two countries because of a single person, discussing this further Grewal questioned the Danish goverment stance on not letting India interrogate Kim Davies in connection with the Purulia arms drop incident of 1995. He said a terrorist has no religion,he represents no country and the laws are same for all the terrorist all around the world. Grewal urged his Danish counterparts to allow Kim Davies to be interrogated and this will also unveil some other players and institutions involved in puralia arms drop case . He also stressed that the rights of the Kim Davies will not be violated and his integrity won't be harmed till the time he is not proven guilty. He said denmark have taken a step towards reviving diplomatic friendship as India got admitted as a permanent observer to the Arctic Council along with China, Italy, South Korea, Japan and Singapore. This will enable India to participate in developing the resources of the Arctic. The decision required the consent of the ‘Arctic eight’ consisting of Canada, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, Norway, Finland, Russia and the US. Denmark, which could very well have stalled India’s application citing bilateral issues, did not do so. He is hopeful Danish goverment will not disappoint in India's pursuit of Kim Davies also. Grewal also cited the healthy trade ties with which Denmark has been a good cooperation partner for India in the EU. It has espoused a liberal trading system and is open to service trade liberalisation. Trade has gone up to $1.2 billion in 2011 from $500 million in 2003, with surplus in India’s favour. Trade in services is also substantial, around $1.5 billion in 2012. FDI of $780 million came in 2011 from Denmark. Though the trade between the two countries have been steady over the few years but showing signs of political optimism Grewal announced that the working conditions in India are way better as compared to the previous UPA regime and now the prime ministers visionary goverment have restored the investors confidence in India. Grewal said that the United Nations also declared June 21 as the World Yoga Day. The decision, taken at the UN General Assembly, is being seen as a proud moment for India. Talking with the media persons after BJP workers meeting here today Grewal stated that our Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi had urged the world community to celebrate Indian yoga at the international level during his visit to the United Nations in September this year. Grewal told here that India received support of 170 nations and United Nations declare June 21 as the World Yoga Day. He stated that in their speech at the UNGA, Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi had said, "Let us work towards adopting an International Yoga Day. Yoga is an invaluable gift of our ancient tradition. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature." He told that around 170 nations supported PM Modi's proposal. In November, European Union President Mr. Herman Van Rompuy told Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi that the 28 member EU supported his idea for a Yoga Day at the UN. Grewal said that about four months ago, Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had appealed to the world community that India's yoga should be celebrated as World Yoga Day. Grewal said that I am happy to inform you that India have received support of 170 nations and the United Nations will declare June 21 as the World Yoga Day". Grewal told that Yoga is the 5000 years old Indian physical, mental and spiritual practice that aims to transform body and mind for good health. National Secretary BJP Kisan Morcha and prabhari Himacha pradesh sought an increase in Narendra Modi security cover, while underlining that the Gujarat Chief Minister's security is the responsibility of the Central government. He said that a series of small bombs killed six people ahead of a rally led by Modi in Patna on October 27, raising his security concerns. Addressing to a press conference at Khamanon mandi, today Grewal underlined that given it is election season, his BJP party would hold a number of rallies. He said that it is responsibility of the Centre to arrange for security. Grewal accused the Centre of taking the issue of Narendra Modi security lightly. Referring to Patna blasts he said it was unfortunate that even today the Bihar Government doesn't admit the security lapses. He said security for the BJP rallies is being compromised despite the fact the party's rallies are getting huge response. Grewal said that Narendra Modi is on the target of terrorists and the Centre Government knows this adding no politics should be played over the security of the BJP party PM nominee. Accusing Bihar Government of negligence in security, he claimed the venue of Narendra Modi Patna rally was not sanitised and no frisking was done to ensure security. Grewal pointed out that recovery of bombs from Gandhi Maidan and at Ranchi prove the well connected network of terrorist is present in Bihar Pradesh, had the leaders and audience not acted with exemplary restraint in Patna, there would've been a stampede. Grewal said that Centre Government should be insure whatever happened in Patna should not be repeated in any other state of Country.

Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal, National Secretary Bharatiya Janata Party , BJP Kisan Morcha and in-charge Himachal Pradesh, today said people of the country had made their mind to elect Narinder Modi-led NDA government in the 2014 general elections to get rid of the scandal-laden UPA government.
Talking with the media persons in a press conference at Sant Baba Hazara Singh Academy and IT College, Dera Pathana Batala Grewal Grewal added that the UPA government had given nothing to the nation except poverty, unemployment, inflation, corruption and scandals.
"Congress-led UPA government had proved a failure on all fronts and people will dethrone them in the coming general elections,"he said.
The BJP leader expressed concern over the reports of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Partap Singh Bajwa following the footsteps of Robert Vadera regarding purchasing government lands.
Grewal demanded that Punjab government should hold a thorough probe into the land deals of Bajwa, his younger brother Fateh Jung Singh Bajwa and his sister-in law.
He said most of the ministers of Manmohan Singh cabinet were involved in various scams and they would not be able to face the masses before the parliamentary elections. He claimed that the people wanted a change in the government at the Centre. "The SAD-BJP alliance will win all the 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab in the upcoming general polls,"he added.

BJP Kisan Morcha All India Secretary and Parbhari Himachal Pradesh Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said that in an attempt to make the construction of the Sardar Patel statue in Gujarat a movement, the Himachal Pradesh State unit of Bharatiya Janata Party also declared it had formed a coordination committee for an iron collection drive. In a press conference here today, Grewal said that the former BJP party president and senior MLA Jairam Thakur, will head the coordination committee. He said that efforts were being made to spread the party cadre network to all 20,118 villages and 3243 panchayats of the Himachal State. The Himachal State Parbhari said that all BJP Leaders and workers will collect iron and soil from all Himachal villages and give it "the statue" a Himachal flavour. We will also collect sacred soil from all the famous temples and religious places of our hill State. Grewal said that the process to make the construction a movement began after the Bhoomi Pujan for the memorial on October 31, the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, by our senior BJP party leader L.K. Advani and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. It was Narendra Modi who conceived this dream project as a tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
“RUN FOR UNITY”
Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said that the hill State Himachal will also organise a “Run for Unity" in all the district headquarters on December 15, the death anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel under the supervision of Jairam Thakur. He said that the state co-ordinator Jairam Thakur had also released the list of 12 district coordinators and a 21-member State-wide list of team managers. National Secretary Grewal said that there will be a joint workshop for team members from Himachal, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana and Punjab at Chandigarh on December 9. Grewal said that the 182-meter statue with a 58-metre pedestal has been named “Statue of Unity” and will be the tallest in the world. He said that it will be installed on a river island facing the famous Narmada Dam near Bharuch in Gujarat. The Rs. 2500-crore project will take at least about four years to complete. Grewal said that there will be a nationwide campaign to collect iron pieces from more than 6.5 lakh villages of the country, said the BJP.

Grewal last, at 6 pm attended this Dussehra festival program organised at Jawahar Nagar Camp, Ludhiana with Bhagat Raj Kumar Kehra, BJP Mandal President Dr. Parmjit Singh, Pardeep Panchi, Amandeep Singh Makkar, Manwinder Singh Lucky, President Harcharan Singh. Senior BJP Leader and Punjab BJP Investor Cell Chief, Advocate Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal today unfolded a major racket by Private Polytechnic Colleges in Punjab in association with officials of Punjab State Technical Education and Industrial Training Board and All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). Grewal stated that AICTE initiated a scheme to run Second Shift of Polytechnic Institution in an existing Polytechnic Institution. Under this scheme, a Polytechnic Institute could provide courses in Morning and Evening Shifts with existing infrastructure and additional faculty. Grewal added that as per AICTE norms the timings for morning or 1st shift were defined as 7 am to 1.30 pm and 2nd shift were defined as 2 pm to 8.30 pm but most of the private polytechnics such as RIMT Polytechnic, Mandi Gobindgarh which are approved for second shift are blatantly violating the norms by running both the shifts from 9.30 am to 5 pm. Thus, the same infrastructure and faculty is used to serve double the strength of students in single shift. Further under the scheme, as per AICTE norms an additional Vice Principal or Deputy Director, in addition to the full time Director/Principal of first shift was to be appointed. Norms further require at least 50% additional teaching faculty should be appointed for second shift and 25% visiting faculty should be engaged and remaining 25% faculty should be utilized from the existing first year faculty. But these Private Polytechnics are miserably overloading existing infrastructure and faculty to serve double the strength of student in single shift in order to milk the institution to please their lust for money. Similarly, as per norms at least 50% additional non teaching staff should be appointed for second shift and 50% existing staff of the first shift may be utilized. Grewal added that the Salary transferred to the Bank accounts of the faculty can be verified to establish the same. “The overall intent of this scheme was to reduce cost of education per student, optimal utilization of resources and to bring the infrastructure of the Polytechnics at par with engineering colleges but murky deals of the Promoters of these Private Polytechnic colleges, officials of AICTE and Punjab State Technical Education and Industrial Training Board have been a spoilsport thereby spoiling the careers of the students”, stated Grewal. He added that he will write to Mr.Mahesh Aggarwal ACB, Central Bureau of Investigation, Sector 30 A, Chandigarh, Mr. Sumedh Singh Saini, Director Vigilance Bureau, Sector 17, Chandigarh and Mr. Gurbachan Singh Joint Director, Intelligence Bureau, Chandigarh to investigate the culprits and to put a full stop on commercialization of education which was once considered a social work. मैं घर से निकल कर अपनी गाड़ी की ओर बढ़ा तो अचानक हांफती आवाज में काका ने पुकार लिया..
"आसिष....ज़रा सुनो बेटा"
काका ने बुलाया...आश्चर्य लगा खैर बजाये गाड़ी में ठसने के काका की ओर बढ़ लिया ।
"प्रणाम...काका"
मैं आगे कुछ और बोलता इससे पहले ही काका ने टोक दिया..।
"अरे वो अब ठीक...तुम बताओ.. भोपाल से क्या #वो_पुराने_नेताजी चुनाव लड़ रहें हैं ?
बड़े बेसब्र थे उत्तर सुनने को..
मैंने कहा ..."हां.. काका'
फट से दूसरा सवाल टपका..
"वही जो पहले मुखिया भी थे ?

काका के बूढ़े चेहरे पर व्यंग्य वाली मुस्कराहट आ गई..।
बोले..."सुनो...जब मुझे जैसे बूढ़े... जिसकी याददाश्त मेहमान की तरह रहती है...उसे सब याद है तो भला और मतदाताओं को याद न होगा?
सवाल तो था सौ टके का । खैर अपन ने काका को जय राम जी कहते हुये कर्मस्थली की राह पकड़ ली।
वहां कार सरपट दौड़ रही थी तो यहां ज़हन में सवाल कूद रहा था कि वाकई नेता जी ने एक बार फिर चुनावी संग्राम की ओर रुख तो कर लिया लेकिन #उफ़्फ़यह.. पुरानी छवि का साया ।
दरअसल..वर्तमान मुखिया जी की सोच या फिर और कोई समीकरण ?
कहा गया कि बडे नेता ऐसे गढ़ों में सेंध लगाने का काम करें जो विपक्ष के लिये महफ़ूज हैं । सो..सोच को आकार देते हुये पूर्व मुखिया जी को भोपाल लोकसभा सीट से कूदा दिया गया । हालांकि पूर्व मुखिया जी काफी धाकड़ नेता हैं और गोटियां बैठाने में बेशक माहिर...लेकिन छवि ज़रूर हिलोरें मार रही है और विपक्ष भी इस कमज़ोरी का लाभ सिर्फ भोपाल ही नही बल्कि अन्य 28 सीटों पर भी लेने को आमादा ..।
खैर ऊंट है....बैठने का मूड का कोई अंदाजा नही ...।

Grewal said that every section of the society supported Yoga. He said through the United Nations, International Yoga day is being celebrated throughout the world. The whole world supported it whether it was developed or developing nations. Grewal stated that there are several days celebrated by UN, including World Cancer Day, World Health Day, World Mental Health Day, and several others. He said that in the field of sports, there are several days which are celebrated. But this (IDY) is the only, which has direct relation with health and also with physical, mental and social health. He said that we think this speaks about the power of this heritage, identity of this heritage which was given by our ancestors. Grewal stated that the news from our National Capital more than 10,000 people gathered at Central Park in the heart of Connaught Place and the circular road around it. It's make one of the largest yoga shows in the city. Grewal said that Political leaders, police and paramilitary officials, teachers, school students, Government employees, as well as volunteers from NGO's performed the yoga postures on mats rolled out on the lawns. He told that sessions were also held around the world, including at the Sydney Opera House, where colourful mats were spread outside the Australian landmark, while Afghans and foreigners gathered at the Indian embassy in Kabul. He said that world was celebrating International Yoga Day by rising above religion. Grewal said that we all Indians feel proud that with the efforts of our Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi India became the first country to spread yoga as 21 June International Yoga day across the world.

Punjab Small Industry and Export Corporation ( PSIEC ) Former Vice Chairman, Advocate Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said that our SAD-BJP Government has made several efforts to boost the industrial sector in Punjab state. Grewal said that due to these efforts of SAD-BJP Government as result several business houses are keen to invest in our Punjab. He said that now we have to check Punjab State Power Corporation Limited ( PSPCL ) which is providing poor services to the Consumers in Punjab. Talking with the Media persons here today Grewal lashed out at Punjab State Power Corporation Limited for poor consumer services and absolute non-adherence of Standards of Performance mandated by Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission ( PSERC ) appointed by Government of Punjab. Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission ( PSERC ) has specified critical distribution parameters to provide efficient, reliable and safe system of Electricity through its regulations provided in its Supply Code. These Minimum Standards of Performance provides strict timelines to resolve various Consumer grievances viz. Normal Fuse Off, Overhead Line Breakdowns, Underground Cable Breakdowns, Distribution Transformer Failure, Power Transformer Failure, Street Light Faults, Period of Scheduled Outage, Voltage Fluctuations, Meter Complaints, Release of New Connection, Transfer of Title or Conversion of Services, Shifting of Meter/Service Connection and other Services, Complaints about Consumer’s Bills and restoration of Supply.
Grewal stated that Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission ( PSERC ) mandates a compensation to the Consumer in case of non-fulfillment of these Minimum Standards of Performance. Compensation varies from Rs 50/- to Rs 5000/- for each default for each Consumer. It is well known that Punjab State Power Corporation Limited neither fulfils these Minimum Standard of performance ( MSOP ) nor compensates any Consumer towards any such lapse whereas Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission ( PSERC ) mandates payment of such compensation by the way of adjustment in Electricity Bills. For instance, Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission ( PSERC ) mandates a normal fuse off complaint shall be addressed within 4 hours in cities, towns and urban areas and in case Punjab State Power Corporation Limited ( PSPCL ) fails to resolve the complaint within 4 hours, it shall remit Rs 50/- as compensation by the way of adjustment in the next bill of the Consumer.
Grewal added that Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission ( PSERC ) mandates registration of each and every complaint filed by the Consumer verbally, telephonically or in writing as per a duly approved Consumer Complaint Handling Procedure whereas there is hardly any such effective system in place to register and address consumer complaints. “According to the Annual Revenue Requirement ( ARR ) filed by the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited ( PSPCL ) with the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission ( PSERC ), it received only 2462 complaints in a year from over 65 Lac Consumers across Punjab whereas on an average more than 10000 complaints are received daily by the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited which clearly means Punjab State Power Corporation Limited ( PSPCL ) had fudged Annual Revenue Requirement ( ARR ) figures to avoid compensation and save itself from the wrath of Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission ( PSERC ) ”, added Grewal.
Grewal stated that he will write to Shri Shanta Kumar MP ( Rajya Sabha ) Prabhari Punjab Pradesh, Sr Sukhbir Singh Badal President Shiromani Akali Dal ( SAD ), Deputy Chief Minister and Power Minister Punjab, Shri Kamal Sharma Punjab State President Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP ), Shri Tikshan Sud Political Advisor to CM Punjab and also to Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission ( PSERC ) to pass strict instructions to Punjab State Power Corporation Limited ( PSPCL ) to ensure registration of each and every complaint and its quick resolution, adhere to the Minimum Standard of performance ( MSOP ) as mandated by Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission ( PSERC ) and compensate each and every Consumer in case of any failure on its part.
