Said by long time residents to be the most snow they have seen in nearly 50 years .

For lunch, we walked through V. Sattui's vineyard to get to their deli, which has decent if overpriced food and a picnic area that seemed perfect for the warm June day.

There are extensive wetlands to the south of the Napa Valley, between the valley and the bay, and nobody goes there but birders and whoever collects the salt. I came for the shorebirds, but stayed for the unearthly view of the mountains.

There are the fall colors in New Hampshire, and the Smoky Mountains, but I think the colors in the Napa Valley give all these other places a run for their money.
