The weight of courage

Another young woman killed in Iran, because of the protest against the killing of Masha Amin

An estimated 135 people were killed in a car bombing at the Tomb of Imam Ali Najaf, Iraq on 2003.

The Fortress of Al-Ukhaidir is located roughly 50 km south of Karbala, Iraq. It is a large, rectangular fortress erected in 775 AD with a unique defensive style. Constructed by an Abbasid caliph, Ukhaidir represents Abbasid architectural innovation in the structures of its courtyards, residences and mosque. With the architectural design, visiting on a dusty yet sunny day offers a chance to capture shadows and illuminating light in the same scene.

Parts of Imam Ali's Last Will:

"I have heard your grandfather, (the Holy Prophet) used to say, "To remove mutual enmity, ill-feeling and hatred among people is better than recommended prayers and fasting of many years."

“Arrange your affairs well, maintain communication and exchange of opinion among yourselves. Beware of disunity and enmity. Do not desist from promoting good deeds and cautioning against bad ones. Should you do that, the worst among you would be your leaders, and you will call upon Allah without response.”
