The 21st Annual Drums Along The Hudson, A Native American and Multicultural Celebration
Featuring drummers and dancers from various North and Central American cultures as well as others areas around the world. The celebration takes place in Inwood Hill Park which was originally home to the Lenape people and now contains the only remaining old growth forest and natural salt marsh in Manhattan. Legend has it that Peter Minuit bought Manhattan from the Lenape in a site within the park in 1626.
This group is the Kalpulli Heuhuethlatholi Aztec Dancers and Drummers and represents and preserves Aztec culture from Mexico
A very changeable day - it was raining when I walked to the subway, overcast when I arrived at my destination and then a few minutes of blue skies and sunshine before the clouds moved back in and the wind picked up.
