The Wood Road Woodchuck looks over it's domain on a most pleasant spring afternoon, but on this quite nippy Groundhog Day of 2017, winter is forecast to hang around for another six weeks...whether we like it or not. Happy Groundhog Day, we're one day closer to spring.

A local Bobcat, waits around near dad's birdfeeders in anticipation of an easy winter meal heading it's way. What beautiful creatures these wild felines are. The day was quite dark, so I worked it over for dad and it now hangs in his shack in the woods. Lynn Longley photo.
Hunting these beautiful tree ducks with a camera is probably about the most exciting thing I can think of. They sit tight in the reeds and rocket into flight when they sense something is amiss. They are quite quick and don't give a lot of time for thinking about what to do, you just shoot first and ask the question later...did I get it? Every now and again, the beautiful Wood Ducks are captured and pixelated, such as this pair that jumped for the heavens this morning in the Horicon Marsh.
