NPR SD40T-2 2853 and NPR SD60F 5525 are awaiting their next assignment at the Fordville Yard, ND. With only 2 units painted in the NPR colors it was a must to get shots of the 1 on the property at the time. The old CN SD60F was 1 of 2 active SD60Fs at the time while the other was in the shop getting load tested. The NPR is a class act and thanks to the people who allowed these photos to be taken. Something truly neat: an interview Will Chapman recently did with a local NPR affiliate that was featured on the nationally-syndicated program, Morning Edition

Northern Plains' TRF Turn passes through what remains of Rosewood, Minnesota. Most of the old town buildings are now private homes or storage. Rosewood was the first stop out of Thief River Falls on the Wheat Line roughly eight miles north and west of town. Today the NPR rolls through several times a week.
NPR 2853 is so far the only locomotive on the roster to get proper Northern Plains paint job. Some of the older geeps have a blue and yellow paint scheme, but it mimics the Santa Fe.
"The Revelations of this past week compel us to recognize the ways in which we've failed as Christians,"
Father Adams understands why Catholics are frustrated, to the point that they might leave. But he said the church's struggle with confronting abuse is why he became a priest.

Don't really know much about this unit, saw it driving by and decided to get out and take some pictures of it.

A side profile roster shot of NPR 1905, now classified at a GP9 locomotive originally built as Rock Island 1282 before operating under the Chicago Northwestern and later Dakota and Iowa. The unit is not assigned to the Farmer's Elevator Company of Honeyford in Honeyford, North Dakota at the southern end of the spur from Forest River down through Gilby and Johnstown. The railroad was the Northern Pacific route from Grand Forks to Pembina and Winnipeg. It hosted NP's passenger train to Winnipeg. A Budd RDC used to traverse this area, imagine.

Northern Plains Railroad units 1510, 2854, and 3502 with a half mile stretch to the Fordville yard. Doing a track speed of 25 mph, while crossing paths with me over a dozen times over a 4 hour period, the crew was probably glad to be home.
The Northwest Railway Museum had to do the pressure testing on work in progress NPR924 and made it into a short westbound run to the historic Snoqualmie Depot for a little show.
Grain dust fills the air around the Osnabrock Farmers Cooperative Elevator filling the car brought in by this pair of NPR from Fordville to here at Nekoma. Nekoma's elevator is one of the sources of grain that sprouted up when the Soo Line constructed the Wheat Line in the early 1900s. Over a hundred years later, NPR operates the Soo's wheat lines and grain is still shuffled east to Thief River Falls and points beyond.
