The natural history museum in South Kensington, London.
Home to the world famous “ Wildlife photographer of the year competition “.
I am fortunate living in south London. Within 1 hour from home I can be sitting in a very comfortable chair enjoying a coffee before wandering around looking at the exceptional collection of animals, birds, sea creatures and dinosaurs.
I admire everything about the Museum. The exhibitions, the talks, staff and displays. You probably realise, I joined as a member about 10 years ago. There are many benefits; no queuing, free entry to all exhibitions, including the superb ‘Wildlife Photographer of the Year’ Exhibition; use of a superb new set of members rooms at the top of the building overlooking a large area of NW London, waiter service etc, etc.
My membership is also the most deserved contribution I have ever made to any club or organisation in my life.....think about it !
End of Advert !!!
The NAtural History Musueum in London. I sketched this after a family outing there. The ice rink in front was very popular. I love the NHM.

A screen at the natural history museum, it was hard getting a photo without any people in the shot, I hate not being patient :)

This image is from 12 frames handheld shots in landscape mode. The plan was to get as much of the ceiling and the floor below in an image as possible. At first it was a Marmite, but is continually growing on me. :-)
Taken with the rather lovely Sigma 8-16mm, as was the previous image.
I'd love to shoot this again, after hours. Then again, I think you need people in shot to give it scale.
Aylesbury is where i found this Leyland Titan parked up,after just finishing its school run, this one was owned by On A Mission Coaches,Soulbury.

‘ The Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition’
The Natural History Museum, London UK.
To me, this is the most powerful image I have taken in the whole of the Corvid Pandemic.
This young man was sitting on his own folding metal seat admiring the wonderful images on show. His red crutches resting against the wall behind. He gradually, carefully, moved around the Exhibition and sat in front of all the incredible images in turn.
He was engrossed in his quiet admiration of each and every Image………
I was, in turn, full of admiration for him. In his determination to go to such lengths, on his own, to admire and enjoy a day at the Exhibition.
His quiet demeanour affected me immensely,
I am not ashamed to say, he brought a few tears to my eyes.
There are, on purpose, none of the Wildlife Images to be seen in my photograph……to me, he is my subject…….that is enough……….
What a lesson to us all.
