Cartoon Network Hotel (15,140 square feet)
2285 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA
This hotel opened on January 10th, 2020; it was originally a Ramada Inn, which opened in July 1971. It became Pen Ram Motor Inn in February 1974 and Continental Inn in February 1975, which closed in January 2018.
The third edition of the Social Good Summit Geneva, concluded at the Credit Suisse Forum in Geneva, brought together 24 best-in-class emerging-markets entrepreneurs pitching scale-ready products and services to impact investors, addressing 12 out of 17 of the Sustainable Development Goals. This year’s Summit, created by UNDP Geneva, and held alongside the World Investment Forum, featured pitches on Access to Health and Education, Responsible Consumption and Production, Agritech and Fintech.

Madrid Network ha organizado un encuentro dirigido a pymes, donde se presentó el II Estudio de Ciberseguridad elaborado por LEET Security, la primera agencia de calificación de ciberseguridad.
Conocer los niveles de seguridad de los proveedores se ha revelado como un elemento crítico para hacer frente a las ciberamenazas, por ello este estudio pretende dar a conocer los niveles de ciberseguridad de las empresas españolas.
El estudio, pone de manifiesto que un 80,4% de las empresas continúa mostrándose muy preocupada por la ciberseguridad y, de hecho un 56,2% manifiesta haber incrementado su inversión en esta materia. Un porcentaje que se sitúa en línea con el 54,7% de las empresas que cree que el riesgo de ciberataques es superior al de 2017.
Eduardo Sánchez, socio de director de LEET Security, destacó que “aunque el nivel de preocupación en ciberseguridad es inferior al de hace un año, las empresas sí que consideran que el riesgo es mayor que entonces, lo que les ha llevado a aumentar la inversión”.
Según Sánchez, los aspectos que más preocupan a las organizaciones son la protección de los datos de clientes (34,6%), la indisponibilidad de los servicios (30,8%) y la fuga de información (23,2%) y, de hecho, estos mismos elementos son reconocidos por las empresas como principales retos.
Juan F. Cornado, responsable de consultoría Grupo SIA, explicó un caso práctico y afirmó que “la situación del tejido empresarial español, requiere de un uso eficiente y racional de los recursos y las organizaciones deben generar su Modelo Unificado de Controles (MUC) que incluya todas las normas y estándares aplicables de los procesos que hayan definido”.
Antonio Ramos, COO de LEET Security, presentó la herramienta de auto-evaluación E-Qualify, el primer sistema de etiquetado de servicios TIC.
A través de éste sello, se etiquetan los diferentes servicios TIC ofrecidos por los proveedores en función de una evaluación exhaustiva y rigurosa de las medidas de seguridad que incorporan, calificando en 5 niveles, confidencialidad, integridad y disponibilidad de servicios. El objetivo es dotar a las empresas y sus proveedores TIC de un mecanismo de calificación más eficaz para conocer, acreditar y mejorar los niveles de ciberseguridad y así minimizar riesgos.
Por su parte, la responsable de desarrollo de negocio de Madrid Network destacó el interés de ésta jornada para la pyme, porque le facilitó información, herramientas y servicios para poder afrontar la seguridad de los movimientos en la red, que preocupa y ocupa al empresariado madrileño innovador. Los riesgos se hacen patentes cada día para las entidades y el ciberentorno es cada vez más grande.
La jornada concluyó con una ronda de preguntas y el posterior networking entre los asistentes, donde pudieron realizar una primera toma de contacto.

The first-ever Learning Together Education Conference focuses on bringing resources, information and networking opportunities for parents and families to address some key issues surrounding the educational experiences of their children.
There are three distinct tracks for the Education Conference:
Parent Leader Track: This track addresses factors that impact families at home, like math and literacy interventions, planning for college and career, and building strong, healthy families.
Emerging Leaders Track: This track provides resources, information and networking opportunities to empower local Middle and High School students to find their voices and learn to address factors that impact their academic achievement, college readiness and career advancement. Participants will also be invited to think about how art has an important role in creating safe spaces to promote healthy community dialogue and development.
Young Leaders Track: For elementary-age students (5-12), this track focuses on raising cultural awareness and academic achievement through health-based and literacy-focused fun and educational programming. Young Leaders will be exposed to lessons on healthy eating, create and take-home unique art projects, and participate in an interactive and engaging theater workshop.

About 45 members of the NC State Alumni Association's Richmond Alumni Network attended the Richmond Flying Squirrels baseball game on Aug. 25. It's an example of the types of activities that our networks across the nation host to help NC State alumni in areas connect with each other and to the university.
