In the 4-H Table Setting Contest at the 2017 Lancaster County Super Fair, youth selected a theme and displayed one place setting, including table covering, dishes, glassware, silverware, centerpiece and menu. Youth chose one of the following categories: formal, casual, picnic or birthday.
During the contest, set up their table and have five minutes to present their table setting to a judge. After all judging is complete, the public is welcome to view the tables.

On April 10, 2016, the Lancaster County 4-H Teen Council participated in the 2016 Global Youth Service Day. With guidance from horticulturist Extension Educator Sarah Browning, the teens did a landscaping "makeover" to the front of the Lancaster Extension Education Center.
Teen Council members replaced the existing river rock with woodchips, and removed the branches that Sarah Browning pruned off the shrubs. A $250 grant from State Farm helped pay for four large flower containers which Extension Master Gardeners will plant later.
The April 10 meeting was also Marilyn Schepers' final meeting leading 4-H Teen Council. She led the club for the past 30 years and in February received her 35 year leader pin for all her years of 4-H volunteer work in Lancaster County.
The 2017 Lancaster County 4-H Horse Awards Night was held Oct. 5. The evening recognized top achievements at the Lancaster County Super Fair and other accomplishments throughout the past year.

In January, 19 4-H Teen Council members organized and led the overnight 4-H Lock-In for 48 4th and 5th graders. This year, teens chose the theme, "Spring into Summer, Fall into Winter" and divided into four groups: games, education, crafts, and food. At the Lock-In, attendees rotated through each of the four groups, made friends, slept a little, and had lots of fun.

In “Makey Makey,” a new workshop at Clover College, youth built computer joysticks using “Makey Makey” kits and Play-Doh (which acts as a conductor because it contains salt). Thirty seven 4-H youth ages 8 and up learned beginning sewing skills and made a pillow at the “4-H Pillow Party” sewing workshop on Feb. 20, 2016. Youth brought their choice of fabric, sewing machine and sewing supplies. 4-H’ers learned to cut and measure fabric, use a pattern, use an iron to neatly press open seams, and how to thread and sew on their sewing machine. Adult volunteers and parents helped. 4-H’ers may exhibit their pillows at the Lancaster County Super Fair.
More than 550 fourth graders from nine schools attended the Agricultural Literacy Festival at the Lancaster Event Center on April 5-6, 2016. Students rotated between the following ten interactive stations: Beef, Dairy, Swine, Sheep, Horse, Poultry, Corn & Soybeans, Water, Farm Technology and By-products.
The Ag Awareness Coalition, led by Nebraska Extension, organizes the festival with the help of agriculture businesses, commodity associations and food industry companies. This is the 16th year the festival has been held in Lincoln. The festival helps students gain a greater understanding of agriculture and how it impacts their daily lives. Students learn about agricultural products, how they are produced and how they are used.
All Nebraska 4-H'ers who exhibit market animals must complete Quality Assurance Training. Lancaster County held a training June 7, 2016. Youth practiced the proper method of giving intramuscular, intravenous and subcutaneous injections.
In the four-day “Clover Kids Day Camp,” youth ages 6-7 participated in several hands-on activities while learning about science, animals, food fun, the outdoors and more. Instructor: Day 4 Session 1 - Sadie Hammond, Extension Intern

Lancaster County 4-H is one of the only county 4-H programs with a county fair llama/alpaca show. The 4-H Llama/Alpaca Show at the Lancaster County Super Fair includes Showmanship, Obstacle Course and Pack Class. All exhibitors are expected to care for their llamas and alpacas (feed and water) and cooperate in keeping pens and alleys clean, neat and attractive.

The 4-H Western Horse Shows at the Lancaster County Super Fair include numerous "in hand" (horse is led, not ridden) and riding classes. Stock horses are typically used. Horse and rider must be in western tack and attire.
Western Horse Show 3 includes Western Pleasure ponies and horses, and western horsemanship.
