Flyjet was a two aircraft airline based at Manchester, UK which began operations at the start of the summer season in May-03. They managed to last for 4 years before ceasing operations at the end of Sep-07.
This aircraft was delivered to a lessor and leased to Hispania Lineas Aereas in Feb-89 with the temporary Spanish registration EC-248, this aircraft was re-registered EC-EMU in Apr-89.
Unfortunately Hispania ceased trading and the aircraft was repossessed in Jul-89 and was re-registered N510FP. In Oct-89 it was leased to Air 2000 as G-OOOJ.
The following month it was wet-leased to Ansett Airlines Australia for the Australian summer season, returning to Air 2000 in Mar-90. In May-93 the aircraft was returned to the lessor and leased to FlyJet as G-FJEB in Jul-93.
It returned to the lessor in Oct-07 after Flyjet ceased operations and was stored at Lasham, UK. In Apr-08 it was re-registered N290AN and was sold to FedEx Federal Express two days later.
The aircraft was re-registered N918FD in Aug-08 and converted to freighter configuration at Mobile, AL, USA in Apr-09. Now 33 years old it continued in service. Updated 02-Aug-22.

This aircraft returned to Ansett Worldwide Leasing just a few weeks after this photo was taken becoming N510FP. It became G-OOOJ with Air 2000 in October 1989, returning to Ansett once again in May 2003 as N290AN. In July 2003 it was delivered to Flyjet as G-FJEB returning to Ansett again in October 2007. In April 2008 it was sold to Fedex, converted to a freighter in 2009 and now flies as N918FD.

Flying into the soon to be renamed Fredrick W. Smith International Airport (MEM) is FedEx N918FD from Charleston, South Carolina. The Boeing 757 first flew for Hispania Lineas Aereas in 1989.
This aircraft was involved in an incident on 16 Jul 2023 at Tel Aviv, Isreal (TLV) after being struck by Challenge Airlines BE Boeing 747-400 OE-LRG while the 757 was parked. The 747's right hand winglet sliced through the 757's rudder after the towbar on the 747 broke on pushback. This caused the 747 to roll forward and strike the 757. The 757 underwent maintenance and other inspections before returning to serice on 28 Oct 2023.
