I "tricked-out" my canoe to suit photography outings. Maiden voyage this morning. A three-hour tour, a three-hour tour.

This is what gets me where I go when my legs can't walk that far...or maybe just don't want to.......my beloved VR6.
It was hard for me to find a place with low enough ambient to pull this one off. I'd been brewing at this one for a while, but never got down to trying it. Tonight seemed like a good night.

I duct taped 3 SB-28's to a light stand, each on it's own level so it could be adjusted individually and each with it's own pocket wizard. I also had an SB-26 on the top, and I had taped a little white piece of paper on the 2nd to upper most SB-28 to bounce light up and trigger the 26 (check out the picture below). By the time I got a shot I was happy with, the cheapo batteries I was using in the 26 died on me, so I only have 3 firing instead of 4. I had so many misfires, dealing with light bouncing issues, recycling issues and my shoe coming off in the mud issues. This was all done on bulb mode, and I realized when I arrived that I had no timer, so I just did some guess work/counted out loud to myself as I walked. If anyone had been around, I'm sure I'd have seemed like a weirdo.
What I think I ended up with was a 38 second exposure at f/11 and iso 200. I had my strobes set at 1/16th power, which was where I found they recycled quick enough, but where still powerful enough at iso 200 to still be able to push a fairly closed down aperture for a semi star as opposed to just a blob of light. This is a single exposure. I just walked around the car holding the light stand, and firing it off with my master PW which I held in my other hand. I just tried to keep a steady rhythm around the car. My arm is sore....

Well I was surprised to have company on the bus on Friday last week....she came to help mommy pack Gangie and GP's stuff....
Now the fun part, trying to find my stuff!
Look out flickr friends....Gangie is just about back on line in full force! I still have some unpacking (lots of it) to do and this little lady turns the big TWO on Sunday so ....rest assured I will be viewing all of your photos when I need a break from the boxes...I imagine it will take me ages to get caught up. :-)

If I had to live a lifetime with only one bird species, the Great Egret would be high on the list.
Central Coloso, also known as Coloso Sugar Cane Refinery, was a long-running sugarcane refinery in Aguada, Puerto Rico. The refinery was established in late 19th century becoming one of the biggest sugar emporiums in the island. It remained operational until 2003 becoming the last sugarcane refinery to cease operations in the island.

My old bike, it had a bit of an adventure last year when it was stolen. Gra and I did some detective work, visited local bike shops leaving a photo of it, and sure enough "the thief" offered it for sale and the owner of the shop phoned us and the Police, I was so happy to get it back.

Over the last year one of my dogs, Joe, and I have developed painful arthritis which makes it difficult to go for walks like we used to. Our other dog, Tim has heart disease and renal failure so he's supposed to stay quite and not be too active. So since we are all getting old and feeling the effects, I got an adult three wheeler which has a basket for them to come for rides with me. So this is our ride ... which we try to take out every afternoon.

I have had these hiking boots for at least 20 years. There is no telling how many miles they have carried me, just today while at Mardi Gras Galveston they carried me 16,437 steps. They are wearing down considerably but carry so many memories and are so comfortable I'm still not quite ready to replace them
With almost 10 months of delays I sure picked the wrong year to build my dream motor but finally seeing the finish line.

My 2017 Sonata after a car-wash. It is an unusual sight here in South Korea where virtually every car has blacked-out windows.
But heavily-tinted blacked-out windows are very unsafe for two reasons: 1) eye contact with the driver by pedestrians attempting to cross at an intersection is impossible and 2) driving at night with heavily-tinted windows is plainly unwise.
But it is what it is.

This bike has taken me thousands of miles and Saturday I'll be riding in my first Hotter than Hell Hundred ride.
Xterra - when I was looking to buy a few years ago the only colour I didn't want was yellow. Now I can't imagine owning one that isn't.
Puddles - lucky for me, Vancouver rains are fairly frequent.
I know this would be a 3rd but i often find myself gazing at clouds. This was an unusually dark one...
Hate to admit it, but I've always wanted to try riding a bike with fat tires! For the winter months in Minnesota, they are likely so needed! Enjoy your weekend everyone!
This shall be may last upload for a while. I am working in Paris for at least three months as of tomorrow and shall only return for occasional weekends. I shall of course be taking a camera with me but unfortunately my Pro Lab is only open on week days and therefor I shall not be able to drop off or collect anytime soon. Not that I shall get too much time for photographs anyway. I can see a Fuji X100 in my future. Cheers all.
My old boots do keep my feet nice and warm and are lovely and comfortable! I needed both warm and comfortable today as my wife decided to go car shopping!! I walked more than I drove so the boots were my "ride" for today!!
Too many grandchildren (not at all) but I guess that little soft top two seater is for another lifetime ;-)

I thought I'd start with one of the funniest moments I've ever captured at the daycare. Let me introduce Jonas, Rio and Hobbes to you in a moment of puppy love.
I've never really gotten around to uploading the vast number of the videos from the daycare. It's one thing to show off the moments I've captured but it's another thing completely to let you watch what I see during the day.
YouTube was there for me but I never really got into it. I guess, unlike a bunch of my friends, I don't mind that Flickr gives me a chance to upload videos. It makes sharing the days activities with my clients just a little bit easier.
