The Odunde Festival is a festival and a street market in Philadelphia, targeting African-American community and the African diaspora. It is derived from the tradition of the Yoruba people of Nigeria in celebration of the new year.
It is conveniently located just outside my home. A very colorful and lively event, with lots of performances and just good peoplewatching.
What I like about this image is how music on a regular street corner brings together people of all ages, skin color, background, etc. It's all very spontaneous, random people walk up, pick a drum, and join. And others start dancing, all in a very cramped space, amid passers by.
Life and Music with Neva Crystall | Shiny Shabby Event
We have simply cheated ourselves the whole way down the line. We thought of life by analogy –as a journey or a pilgrimage- which had serious purpose at the end. The thing was to get to that end, success, or whatever it is, or maybe Heaven after you are dead, but we missed the point along the whole way. It was a musical thing, and you were supposed to sing or dance while the music was being played. Instead you had to do “that thing” and you did not let it happen.
From ‘The Tao of Philosophy’ by Alan Watts
This room is filled with musical instruments from all over the world. On the walls, we see string instruments from Japan, China, and Vietnam.
On the ground, there are drums and an African balafon (xylophone). Besides old pianos, we also discover a harpsichord (the red instrument).

It will be a small boutique gallery with a narrow theme. I am interested in manips using wombo as a layer, not by itself or with other AI stand alone programs.
If you are exploring this journey, please come by.
