Nearly 11 years after rolling out of the Muncie, IN plant in Reading paint, NS SD70ACe 1067 has once again emerged with a new coat of paint thanks to shop personnel at Juniata Locomotive Works in Altoona, PA. The 1067 is pictured leading train 22X on the Passaic & Harsimus Branch in Newark, NJ bound for Croxton Yard in Jersey City, NJ with a short train.

This is where I lived from circa 1972-1977. Most of the plants and trees in the photo were planted by my father with the exception of those near the front porch and on either side of the garage.
I wanted to show this to a freind, and it appears that I did not previously upload it. Now everyone gets to see it. ;-)
Interesting tidbit. At some point, they totally renumbered everything. "41 Bayberry Lane" no longer exists.
After waiting to meet UP train MNPNL-22, UP train GEKSTP-23 gets moving again as it crosses over from Main Track 1 to Main Track 2 at CP Z010 at Muncie on the UP Kansas Sub. Led by one of only a few gray KCSM AC4400CWs left in service, this train empty grain train is en route to Cargill in Topeka, KS after being interchanged from the KCS earlier in the day. It'll return loaded as GLTPKS-25. 4/23/20.

A mid train DP is helping to propel a massive PSR-sized manifest across the White River at Muncie, IN. The train is bound for Fort Wayne on former Nickel Plate rails.
NS 9560 leads a manifest down the NS New Castle District in Muncie, Indiana past the NKP and NYC signals that may soon meet their fate. 7/30/16

PRLX 2236 still wears its black NS paint. This SW1500 was built for Reading in 1966.
Transportation has always been more than some form of conveyance to get me from point A to point B. In High School, many eons ago, I got myself a first Gen Camaro to get around. Many decades later, this car is still in the garage. This photo is a tribute how the things you love can some times hurt you. I have been having some shifting troubles due to some bad synchros for a while, but for a week or so the trans really started to make noise. I decided it was time to pull her apart after the next weekends car show.
Of course, on the way to the car show, I lost both second and third gear. On the way home from the car show, I lost reverse and about 5 miles from home the second gear synchro came apart, and pieces wedged in the main shaft caged bearings and the car started shaking so bad I broke 3 exhaust mounts before I could get the car pulled to the side of the road. I used this as an excuse to go with a forged input and output shaft and full race roller bearings to support the internals. We added some billet support plates and stronger shift forks. She is back on the road now, but I do have a nice box of the transmission internals.
The City of Muncie is the county seat of Delaware County, Indiana. In 2010 it had a population of 70,085.

The goal of this trip was the huge Progress Rail locomotive plant south of Muncie, Indiana. A few Ferronor 1000mm gauge exports sit on a stub track next to the test track with the plant visible in the background.
