These autographed boxing gloves were worn by Muhammad Ali in about 1974. The are on display at the Museum of American History in Washington, D. C.

Muhammad Ali was named as "Sportsman of the Century" by Sports Illustrated and "Sports Personality of the Century" by the BBC.
The four lions were ordered in 1871, to stand guard around the statue of Muhammad 'Ali in Alexandria, but instead were installed at the ends of the al-Gezira Bridge (1872). While the new bridge was being constructed, they were moved to the zoo. When the bridge was completed, the lions were relocated and King Fuad I inaugurated the new bridge, naming it after his father, the Khedive Ismail Bridge.

Muhammad Ali is generally considered to be the greatest heavyweight boxer in the history of the sport. Raised in Louisville, Kentucky, his birth name was Cassius Marcellus Clay but changed his name when he converted to Islam. His fights with Joe Frazier and George Forman are considered some of the greatest fights in the history of the sport. He died on June 3, 2016 from the complications of Parkinson's disease and is resting here in one of the more secluded spot in Cave Hill Cemetery.
