Says the boiling mud.

There are some amazing mud pools, just outside the Wai-O-Tapu thermal park. These were so amazingly cool.

Krafla is a caldera of about 10 km in diameter with a 90 km long fissure zone, in the north of Iceland in the Mývatn region. Its highest peak reaches up to 818 m; it has erupted 29 times and it is 2km in depth.

The Krafla area also includes Námafjall, a geothermal area with boiling mudpools and steaming fumaroles. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krafla)

Went up to Husavik for some whale watching and overnight camping. On the way back we stopped at Krafla near Myvatn and Goðafoss.

Brief comment: Really great stamps! :D My initials actually. They are informative as well as beautiful and funny.

Taken on my recent holiday to New Zealand.

Taken with teh busted (hence blurred image) 10-20mm lens, but I still quite like it, the blurred trees at the entrance i find quite nice.

I loved this place, a wonderful geothermal park, full of geysers, thermal pools, mudpools and lots of stinky holes in the ground :)
