The hard truth is we are doomed to be chaste. To never touch each other, hear each other, see each other... so what harm can there be to write to each other?
-Elizabeth Whitcomb from "The Love Letter"
GeschĂĽttelt. Nicht gerĂĽhrt.

Actually one should translate the catchphrase in German like this: ErschĂĽttert, nicht gerĂĽhrt ... which makes a completely different sense ;-)
I found the following a little interesting:
No other drink in book and film history is as famous as Bond's Vodka Martini. The agent licensed to kill has a very precise idea of how to mix this cocktail. The saying "Shaken, not stirred" is one of the most famous movie catchphrases of all time. Bond reaches for the glass on various occasions and in changing company. He drinks his vodka martini ice-cold, but without ice. So ice is put in the shaker, the vodka martini is shaken and finally the ice is filtered off. The name of the drink also causes further confusion: Martini is a very well-known vermouth brand, but Bond drinks his vodka martini entirely without this wine-containing ingredient. And James Bond wouldn't be James Bond if he didn't have an ace up his sleeve: Biochemists from the University of Western Ontario have found that the shaken variant with wormwood is healthier. In addition to the additional oxygen, it also contains more antioxidants that protect the body from free radicals.
- - - Well then ... cheers ;-)
I think my two virtual living room lights are having fun. And the mood goes with a drink, right?

When asked his drink order in Goldfinger, the Bond film with the best theme this side of Skyfall, Bond says, within two seconds, "A martini, shaken not stirred."

"The stuff that dreams are made of" is a line of dialog from The Maltese Falcon. It is a reference to a line from Shakespeare's play The Tempest: "We are such stuff as dreams are made on, and our little life is rounded with a sleep."

One of my favorite movie lines of all time...and a pretty cool old sign that I found in Athens, Tennessee. Unfortunately, I think it has been taken down now...but, they used to have an amazing cheeseburger!

Title: There’s no place like Home
Notes: There is no place like home, and these Great Blue Herons have found theirs. There were two babies in the nest too, but they only poked their tiny heads up occasionally when some tidbit of food was brought home. This was just one of over 15 nests located high up in the trees on “Eagle Island” as I call it, located in the south part of the main pond of the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge in Philadelphia. It was a great day out and we also saw many tree swallows also nesting on our walkabout. For most people, the herons were TFA (Too Far Away), but I was lucky enough to have my “big” 600mm lens, and a steady hand as I was not using a tripod. Some cropping was involved ;-).

From Nick's Perspective (Taken From The Comments)
"I must say, having been the other half of it - it was a spectacular kiss.
There is something to be said about having such an intense action dictated by the 10 seconds alloted after setting the self timer that intensifies the act of placing the hands firmly on a person's back, dropping their torso to an approximate 45* angle, and passionately enjoying an intimate moment punctuated by the click of the shutter."
Our Daily Challenge ... movie quote.
A lucky visit by a pair of Rosellas today yielded lots of nice photos of them. I thought these two were appropriate for the movie quote!
In the movie Casablanca, Bogart toasts Bergman, and he uses that line, "Here's looking at you, kid." In the movie, Bogart is trying to illustrate that he loves looking at Bergman so that's why he says it. It is obviously not grammatically correct but Bogart played a lot of gangsters in his movies, so he didn't always speak correctly. It doesn't take away from the beauty of the line, rather it makes it more poignant.
I wanted to do a silly photo for the theme this week.
