MOTIVATION

🎶 ♫ Yeah (go, go, go, go)

(Turn the hate off)

Whoa hater, I dare you to slow your hate down

Think you can go longer, you can last more rounds? (not)

You push harder, you're almost there now...sike

So go hater, make EMMIE proud (turn the hate off)

But you just can't seem to stop there (whoa, hater)

Music still playin' in the background (whoa, hater) ♫ 🎶 — or whatever Kelly Rowland said...

I feel that I should apologise for constantly moaning about the weather, but then again, I am British and it's a well known national pastime. It really is miserably hot, though, and there's not a drop of rain in the 10-day forecast. It's quite unnerving, to be honest.

Anyway, I managed to put this together today before diving into a cooler, north-facing, room. The button is a strange one. It's sterling silver made to look like pewter and the centre is glass made to look like pearl. Why? I've no idea! It dates from the 1900s. The French thimble is also silver and dates from the 1910s. The smaller of the 2 wooden reels, dating from the 1910s, is Perivale sewing silk and the larger one was made for the John Lewis department store in the 1940s. Underneath everything is a hand coloured postcard by Otto Schilbach dating from the 1910s. Lastly, I believe the tiny flower is Queen Anne's Lace, but I'm not sure. It was included in a bunch of white flowers. :)

This piggy bank is a motivational aid to save for the next vacation or to stop unhealthy smoking, when you can see, how much money you will save....

Nobody's ever made me feel the way that you do

You know my motivation given my reputation

Please excuse me I don't mean to be rude

Wishing you all a gentle day.

Have fun and enjoy the time with your family.

This photo made the Flickr Explore/Interesting page for May 20th, 2007. Thanks to everyone who made this possible!

Coffee, with brunch, in the sun, on the Marina. A perfect start.

For some time now I'm lacking of motivation, I'm having trouble finding my way, and I'm having a hard time blossoming in what I'm doing. All of this locks me in a vicious circle. So much that I've been sick for 2 months and I think if I still am, it's because I don't want to heal.

To try and get me out of this, I bet on my long-term photo projects, it's more or less effective, making progress is encouraging.

I'm asking a lot of questions, but I think I should just ask the others.

I kind of quitted my sociability from the Netherlands to get back to my French solitaire daily routine.

It's hard to describe the state of mind in which I am, because despite this, morally I am in good shape, but I'm still a little bit annoyed by what's going on right now.

I will try to do a week of black and white photo next week, I was thinking of self-Portraits, I don't know too much, if you have ideas, leave it in comment, I'll take care of the rest ;)

It's been a long time since I've written about me, but I like to do it once in a while, just to figure out why I'm taking pictures of a guy for a period.

I'm not going to ask you to share, I prefer this post to be seen by the people who follow me (of course you do whatever you want ! ), however, do not hesitate to comment (especially if you want to see me experiment techniques).

I hope you enjoy seeing me back with a sombrero in the middle of winter, because I have other photos in this style :)

Happy Sunday and see you soon!

Upper East Side, Central Park - Jun 2008 - 085

These pictures were taken on two successive days when I had doctor appointments on the Upper East Side of NYC, and had the chance to walk along Fifth Avenue, and then through Central Park in order to return to my apartment on the Upper West Side, at Broadway & 96th

I had spotted this woman jogging in Central Park a little earlier -- how could you not notice someone in a bright pink top and pink hat? She had been running south, while I was walking north, and she went by too quickly for me to get a picture.

But about ten minutes later, as I was approaching Columbus Avenue and 96th Street, she jogged past me again ... she had to stop at Columbus Avenue, because of the traffic, so she was actually jogging in place when I took this picture...

Note: on Sep 26, 2012, I replaced the original version of this photo with a slightly edited one. All I did was some relatively minor adjusting of "hot spots" and "cold spots" -- but unfortunately, I was unable to remove all the monochromatic blackness in the woman's tights Unfortunately, the original photo was shot as a JPG image, before I learned about the benefits of shooting in RAW and making more subtle adjustments with my Aperture photo-editing program...
