The pad and coloured pencil set was created to communicate colour to the blind. The pencils translate their colour by weight, for visually impaired users. The light colours are light to pick up, and the pencils get heavier as the colours get darker; they also make noise when they are being used.
The pad has a sheet of silicone at the back, which is laid underneath to create a copy out of the drawing indents so that the user can feel what they have created after.
