Ramadan Intro................

Some seemingly pseudo random stuff from my warped brain that I created for this week's theme "Repetition" on Facebook's Moncton Photography group.

One of my good friends told me that I needed to make him some weird shit like this for one of his music videos. =)

Original colour version.

Our approach has always been one that embraces collaboration as a fundamental part of what we do.

Over the last ten years we have worked with highly talented individuals, teams and companies from all over the world that help bring our vision to life.

Join the Dots is a celebration of the spirit of collaboration.

A simple idea. A consistent frame for a multitude of work. A single dot, each representing one collaborator, each a connection to another.

Each collaborator is given a template of a dot in a fixed position on an A2 portrait poster. Each interpreted this in their own way.

These are the first 25. There will be 100 in total and be collated into a book and exhibition.

Thanks to all that have contributed so far and for those that are still to come.

AXN LatinAmerica called us to do the Promo of one of its primetime shows "Criminal Minds", which main characters are a team of profilers from de FBI that search into the criminal minds to predicts their next move.

When we first read the script from our friends from Sony, we realized it was quite a challenge! The idea was to build the body of one of the criminal minds with types and phrases simultaneously with the audio. Phrases that would cause most of the psychological traumas.

Bring the script to life we proposed to tattoo the typographic phrases on a person skin and we walked into the challenge of create a tie between the ANALOGOUS and the DIGITAL.

On one hand we hand painted the phrases with brushes to give them more expressiveness and realism. On the other hand we modeled the human been in 3D and we mapped the phases on him, specially on his face. Taking as reference a great audio work, that'd define the timing to develop and animate the phrases, and with a delicate edition work that intensify the chaotic rhythm by the end of the piece we manage to transmit part of the "Criminal Minds" chaos, full of interruptions and torments thoughts, full of internal voices that push him to commit the crimes.

as per many requests...

i'm reuploading the Tracking markers I created a bit ago. they're in easy to use pdf format for y'all to print.

24liespersecond.com/#134754/VFX-Kit-gallery

they're fairly big at 20"x30", you may need to send these out to be printed, use non glossy paper. each print out makes sixteen 5" markers and thirty-two 2.5" markers.

the template is black and white, so be mindful of foreground subjects and roto, etc. (i'm re-doing the blue/green and green/orange ones, i'm trying to lock down proper print color values that are closest to bluescreen and greenscreen)

once printed, you can put them on 20" x 30" self-adhesive foamcore boards, you can usually get this at any good art supply store,

www.artsupply.com/foamcore/self_adhesive.htm

i use black for these and white for the blue/green versions.

you can cut them with a straight edge and an xacto knife. i personally use this

hope these help some of you. enjoy!

Here's my latest permutation of my recurring 8mm reel-to-reel film strip video. This time, I figured out how to make the film strip bend and flow as if fluttering in the wind.

I just started playing around with different effects and found one that did exactly what I wanted it to do in terms of warping the film. There are actually two effects working in unison to make the bend and flow of the film.

I was able to implement this very quickly and I dreamt up several other film strip ideas that I'll probably work on over the Christmas holidays when I have some spare time.

Next time, I might try loop-de-loops, but that seems a bit too hard for me at this time. Need to think about that.
