I call this one "Getting Open". The boys were bursting out of a 'stack'
on an inbound play in one of their successful games against the lads
from BCIS. Oscar is the blond mop top at a strange angle to the floor
in the centre right of the photo. He actually received the inbound pass
and scored a lay-up but I was so excited I only caught this shot! He was
playing for the 6th Grade Boys Basketball Blue Dragons in the annual
ISAC tournament at Dulwich College Beijing. The Blue Dragons gave their
best but did not make the finals after a controversial nailbiter against
chief rivals, the very talented chaps, from WAB. There's always next
year...
I have close family in the vicinity of the Nixon Road fire that started yesterday so I went up to look at the mopping up late this afternoon.
Luckily the reports say no houses were lost but 350 hectares were burnt, a tanker was lost and three firefighters were injured.
Birdsland, a beautiful recreation park in the area, looks like it's been decimated.
