Classic Plymouth GTX.

From model years 1970 to 1974, the first-generation Dodge Challenger pony car was built using the Chrysler E platform in hardtop and convertible body styles sharing significant components with the Plymouth Barracuda.

This is what my friends and I would say to each other when we saw or heard about a Chrysler product with a Mopar engine. This is the view under the hood of the 1969 Plymouth Road Runner. It has a 383 eight cylinder Mopar engine, very much like my dad's 1968 Dodge Charger had. These engines performed well, especially on freeways, and we didn't worry about mileage, as gas prices back then were still pretty reasonable.

On the left is a 1964 Dodge Polara set up to drag but quite streetable. I believe the engine in it is a 383 V8. On the right is a 1968 Dodge Charger R/T with a 440 V8 with a 4-speed transmission. These belong to friends I’ve met by attending Cars & Coffee events in Queen Creek, Arizona, both fellows are about my age.

A look back at some of my favorites.

Well, I posted 44 images in 2016 which is pretty good considering like everyone else it was a busy year.

I am into my 23rd year as a firefighter and 10th as a Captain with the Spokane Valley Fire Department and I have a fantastic crew and station. Like most professions in 2016, the fire service continues to deliver worthy changes, challenges and opportunities.

I really enjoy my time interacting with Flickr friends. Everyone has so many interesting stories to tell and photos to post. Here's to an even more amazing 2017!

Happy New Year!

The Second Generation Plymouth Valiant spanned from model years 1963-66. The ‘Signet’ level was the highest level of trim. This one also appears to have a 'V8' emblem on the side of the fender, just ahead of the driver's door. That would have originally been a 273 cubic inch V8. At that time it would have been the least expensive V8-powered car offered in the US.

The first generation of Barracuda, Plymouth’s ponycar, was derived directly from this generation of Valiant.

You would think this monster didn't like MOPAR!

He must be dedicated to Studebaker to react so strongly!

I thought this was a really cool detail on a great Mopar...
