Have a great weekend, everyone!
West Montrose Covered Bridge, also known as the "Kissing Bridge", is a covered bridge in West Montrose, Ontario, within Waterloo Region and the last type of this style of bridge in Ontario. This is the neat view I had on my hike back out from the sunset spot I had while at the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. Here with some of the burnt trees in this section along the ridge, this evening blue hour view from the highlands overlooking the open area below with the lights of Montrose, Colorado there framed in this view next to the neat left over trees.
View below in the comments is the capture taken of the Canyon prior to this capture (during the hike back out through the woods from the overlook)
It was a sunny day, though rather cool, and there wasn't much happening on a Wednesday afternoon.

I've been a big Denver & Rio Grande Western fan all of my life (and quite possibly before birth) 😉. Two decades ago, Union Pacific assigned pairs of Rio Grande GP40-2s to local service out of Grand Junction, Colorado. On Friday mornings, the LDF51 local freight ran south 60 miles to Montrose. I drove along US Hwy 50 to No. 650 road, which leads down to the Gunnison River at Escalante. The wait wasn't long before 3111 and 3105 arrived, rolling upstream with 24 cars. Victory!
A scotrail inter7city service heads across the Rossie viaduct at Montrose, sun was in short supply all weekend and we drove here as it looked like this was the only place that would get any decent weather and were rewarded by a pretty good reflection shot
Bored so I thought i'd play around with some photos that I took over the winter. Here, using the crop tool to change composition.

Montrose Beach stretches three miles from Montrose to the North Esk River. The area is home to is home to over 100,000 migratory birds including pink-footed geese, wigeon and a variety of other waterfowl and waders, while during the spring and summer months the estuary supports various breeding colonies including sand martins, common terns and eider.
In the distance is Scurdie Ness Lighthouse on a headland located on the south side of the River South Esk, which leads from the North Sea into Montrose Harbour and then into Montrose Basin. The word Scurdie is a local word for the volcanic rock found there and Ness means headland.
Scurdie Ness lighthouse was built by David Stevenson and Thomas Stevenson and was lit for the first time on Tuesday 1 March 1870. During World War II the lighthouse was temporarily painted black.

Culled from a past visit, this bench on the corner sits in the garden of a local coffee shop.
It seems very inviting, except on that day the temperature was about 30 degrees (F) with a stiff breeze! There is a hardy soul out there, pretty amazing how youth don't suffer from cold stiff breezes....
Happy Fence Friday!
This is a wider shot of Montrose, Nebraska in the morning sun.
