The Dufourspitze is the highest peak of Monte Rosa, an ice-covered mountain massif in the Alps. Dufourspitze is the highest mountain peak of both Switzerland and the Pennine Alps and is also the second-highest mountain of the Alps and Western Europe, after Mont Blanc. It is located between Switzerland (Canton of Valais) and Italy (Piedmont and Aosta Valley). Telelens.

Went hiking with my right arm in a cast, therefore this is straight out of my cheap phone.

Causa braccio destro ingessato, questa arriva ancora dal mio telefono... ma con una vista così!
Yesterday I was in Alagna Valsesia.
I spent the morning hiking and then the afternoon with my family. The best part of the day, anyhow, came with the evening. I had the great pleasure to meet with one of my Flickr contacts from the United States. He was on vacation in Italy with his beautiful family and he wanted to visit also Alagna and the area of Monte Rosa. To meet people that share your same passions, coming from a remote part of our world, is a wonderful experience; the fact that he wanted to visit the mountains that I love since I was a child is even more fantastic. But even forgetting the passion for the mountains and for photography, I had the huge pleasure to spend an evening with wonderful people.
This is Monte Rosa massif from the trails around Alpe Campo and Alpe sattal. I know that today, somebody coming from far away has enjoyed this same view.
Thanks a lot for the time spent together, Courtney.

Along the trail to Moanda Pass, just above the settlement named Alpe Campo.
A big cairn marks the path amid the green meadows and the wild flowers, while, at the horizon, dark clouds embrace the huge cliffs and ice falls of Monte Rosa massif.

I left home rather late that day, not early in the morning. I wanted to take some photos at high altitude taking advantage of the beautiful landscape that the mountains illuminated by the light of the sunset offered. It was winter and the temperature at high altitude was starting to drop quickly as the sun went down. Arrived on the ridge, I waited for the sunset enjoying the landscape. The warm light reflected on the mountains created beautiful colors, depending on the distance at which the mountains were located. The plans stand out quite clearly in the image, creating a strong contrast between them. From the pre-Alps in the foreground, to the Alps in the background, with Monte Rosa standing out on the left. The descent, which lasted for hours, was tiring, in the dark, with the torches that for an unfortunate event didn’t work.
Le montagne sono quei luoghi in cui Dio dimostra di essere più bravo di Michelangelo a scolpire.
