walking on the ground of the mangrove forest. About 1 m long.
There is very little of the original Singapore Mangrove forests left. I went to explore a board walk trail at the Pasir Ris Park and spotted these Monitor Lizards. All together 3 of them in S,M and L size. The large one sitting on the thick branch was pointed out to me by some high school girls.
It is quite something to see them while not confined in a zoo!
This was a much smaller version of the monitor lizard we had seen across from our floating lodge at Mandina!
The hours were racing by. The deadline was looming. And the Brooke gun needed...well....everything. Lenk caves to the pressure.
Went over Monitor Pass on Highway 89 on our way back from the Flickr Yosemite Group meetup. We were looking to see if any aspens had donned their golden mantle for fall. You can tell by the trees in the background we'll have to try back later this month.

We noticed, while camping at Mushroom Valley Eco Camp (highly recommend), this little slinker creeping up a tree to see if he could score some bird eggs. The birds saw him just before we did and I didn't notice him slink back down, so he may have gone hungry that day.
