My first attempt at module 3's coursework. I didn't go out with the intention of doing the course work, i just had a go at the shot to see if it would work.

Unfortunately the trees aren't quite dark enough and the sky is a bit dark. I used evaluative metering. Think I will try spot metering in future.

I was at home this weekend with my family and decided to take pictures of the Merrill home from the “outsiders” perspective. I changed my ISO to 400 for most because it was cloudy, but also had a little bit of sun shining through. I put my white balance to auto to help me automatically balance the color. I had my aperature set to f/11 because there was sun shining on the items I was photographing.

First attempts with granddaughter. She wasn't too keen on posing.

The exposure which is the darkest with detail still in the highlights 1/1000" at f3.5

I loved the color of the trees at the park. I thought the underside of the branches would be an interesting perspective to capture. I tried to capture the unique greens, reds, and browns found in the tree with a shallow depth of field. It was interesting attempting to get the right exposure on the needles while trying not to blow out the sky in the background.

My 1st attempt at Module 6 - Sheffield Cycling Grand Prix- Slow sync flash. I do not get what I am supposed to be achieving with this and I don't think it is helped by needing to use a manual focus lens. Panning, I can do - this, I can't!
