Chocolate of Modica -Modica chocolate, also known as "cioccolata modicana" is an Italian protected geographical indication (PGI) specialty chocolate, typical of the municipality of Modica, in Sicily, characterized by an ancient and original recipe using manual grinding (rather than conching) which gives the chocolate a peculiar grainy texture and aromatic flavor.
The main street of the lower town, the Corso Umberto I, is lined with numerous fine town houses, many of them dating back to the early 18th century.
