This image was taken for a clinic in Taipei. It will be their advertisement image. They contacted me yesterday and said that they needed the image "yesterday" I am very fortunate to have a very beautiful wife, so she had to be my model.

我拍攝這系列的動機來自對日常生活行為的觀察與反思。生活在高度商品化與資訊化的社會中,電子資訊產品早已無孔不入地滲入每個人的日常作息,無論是工作或娛樂,我們每日使用著這些資訊產品,如呼吸般自然。每天不定時的打開Email信箱,瀏覽固定的Blog檢查有沒有更新,在Youtube上收看有趣的影片,或是漫無目的地surf on net等等,已成為一種固定的生活模式。然而這些行為通常是不具目的性且缺乏意義的,因此不斷地重複這些行為以滿足心智活動的需求,其結果往往是空虛。
我想利用這些畫面表達人們對資訊電子產品的依賴,因此使用「吃」這人類賴以維生的行為來比喻資訊產品對人的不可或缺。另一方面,則藉由以無機物替換有機物的形式,來表達資訊科技為人類生活帶來的衝突,以及其造成的人類的物化。同時,我試圖以商業影像的拍攝方式來表現科技如同食物一樣,透過美化與包裝以吸引消費。然而,我並沒有意圖否定資訊科技及其所帶來的便利。這個作品源自對自身生活的省思,我希望透過這些畫面來吸引觀者的注意,並引導觀者去思考資訊科技對生活帶來的改變。

Winner’s Speech:
My motivation for taking this series of photos was the observation and introspection of life. Living in a society with high levels of commercialization and spreading information, electronic information products have been all-pervasive in everyone’s lives. No matter what we do in our daily life, we use these products as naturally as we breathe. We are used to checking our email address at any time, browsing blogs to check if they have been updated, watching interesting videos on youtube, or aimlessly surfing the internet, all of which have become a fixed part of out lifestyle. These behaviors, however, are usually without purpose or meaning, so what we are most likely to find is emptiness.
I want to express people’s dependence on electronic products through pictures, so I use “eating”, an inevitable human behavior, to compare with the technology. On the other hand, I want to use an expression of replacing the organic matter with inorganic to convey how information technology brings conflict to human society and how it materializes us. At the same time, I manage to utilize commercialized photography to show that technology is just like food, which always attracts customers with beautified images and packing. However, I am not trying to deny the convenience brought by information technology. I just want to let the audience see these pictures whose creation originated from my introspection and consider the changes that information technology brings us.
