Con il termine “Moda Positano”, ormai diventato un vero e proprio marchio di garanzia, si fa riferimento ai capi d’abbigliamento confezionati secondo un’antica usanza manifatturiera di Positano. Questa moda, che conquista i turisti di tutto il mondo, ha umili origini poiché affonda le proprie radici nel dopoguerra, quando le ristrettezze economiche impedivano sprechi e inducevano gli artigiani a riutilizzare ritagli di stoffa derivanti dalle lavorazioni di seta, iuta, merletto a tombolo, ecc.
Da un lato dunque avanzi di stoffe e tessuti vari, dall’altro la fantasia di una popolazione per natura abituata al bello, ai colori e all’allegria. Da questo felice connubio nacquero vestiti, borse, cappellini e poi ancora cinture, costumi da bagno, parei, ecc.
Intorno agli Anni 50 fiorirono innumerevoli botteghe e piccole aziende di abbigliamento che contribuirono alla diffusione del brand Moda Positano.
Gli abiti delle sarte positanesi hanno imposto uno stile riconoscibile con parei e corpetti stringati, vivaci e freschi. Il segreto del successo della Moda Positano è nell’attualità. Pur avendo, infatti, antiche origini, questa moda segue le ultime tendenze degli stilisti più famosi, proponendo capi rivisitati e riletti alla luce dello stile Positano di sempre.
Un capitolo a parte andrebbe dedicato ai sandali di Positano, frutto di un grande estro e di un’incredibile manualità. In poche mosse i calzolai di Positano sono in grado di confezionare su richiesta eleganti sandali su misura, comodi e colorati.
