The Storm King Mountain, overlooking the Hudson River, gave its name to a landscaped sculpture garden that started in 1960. Many well-known artists of that era picked a spot to create work for it.
Isamu Noguchi went even further: he asked for a complete new hill. On top of this elevation, with views all around, he placed a large stone 'ensemble', named Momo Taro. The name refers to an ancient folktale about an elderly couple that - no doubt to everybody's surprise - still got a son. As the tale wants it, he emerged from a peach pit. The round stone - a colossal boulder that had to be split and hollowed out because it was too big to ship from Japan - reminded Noguchi of a giant peach, ready to consume. Visitors, especially children, are invited to enter the cavity and sing a song. The hollow shape resonates beautifully.
Landscaping is an integral part of Isamu Noguchi's oeuvre. He created several playgrounds and also made stage designs. It betrays an important aspect of his work: art is not only useful as an object of meditation or as an expensive luxury. Art should enrich daily life. Art and play are like brother and sister.

Author of the world’s longest tag that wound its way all over Manhattan unbeknownst to New Yorkers, MOMO grapher creates new urban maps based on infinitesimal interventions or monumental frescoes. Here in Mons, he has created a fresco in zebra-coloured flat hues.
Location: Rue Cantimpret, Mons, Belgium
I visited Momo today and found her resting in a bed of periwinkle. She was soon purring and making biscuits.
the mohair is wefted but extremely well done, you can't see the wefted lines and is sewn following the lines that were already in the scalp, not in spiral, but line by line. By my mom, who can really sew ;)
Or the strange story of the time-thieves and the child who brought the stolen time back to the people
Macro Mondays "My Favourite Novel / My Favourite Read"
Size of pocket watch: 4,7 cm (1,85 inches) in diameter, height (including crown and chain): 6,4 cm (2,5 inches)
"Momo" is a novel written by German author Michael Ende (1929-1995). The girl Momo lives outside an unnamed town. She can't read, write or count, but she can listen. And by doing so, makes many friends in that town. One day, the "Men in Grey", also known as "The Grey Gentlemen", arrive. They claim to work for the "Timesavings Bank" and urge people to open "timesavings accounts" where they can save as much time as possible. As more and more people open timesavings accounts, life becomes sad, sterile and hectic in that town, life literally becomes "grey". What the inhabitants do not know is that the Men in Grey are parasites who are stealing time. The more time the people "save", the less time they have for social activities, fun, and recreation. That time is lost, and it's being consumed by the Men in Grey: They are smoking grey cigars made of dried petals of so-called "hour-lilies" (those lilies represent time). The Grey Gentlemen cannot exist without those cigars, they can't exist without the time they are stealing from the people. Only Momo stays unaffected by the parasitic influence of the time thieves. With the help of the administrator of Time, Master Secundus Minutus Hora, and his tortoise called Cassiopeia, Momo manages to defeat the Men in Grey, and the stolen time is given back to the people.

This time I actually used the in-camera multiple exposure settings, and processed the double exposure in ON1 RAW 2018. I used a glitter foamsheet as background for the pocket watch.
The flower is not a lily, but a humble primrose ;-)
A Happy Macro Monday Everyone ;-)
When I first met Momo he was hanging out near a group of chickens, keeping an eye on their activities from his nearby lounging spot.
Momo is an older outdoor/indoor cat who lives on a farm. He looks grumpy and meows if you get near him, but if you give him a chance he's actually very sweet and loves to have his head scratched.
Momo is a type of steamed bun with some form of filling. Momo has become a traditional delicacy in Nepal, Tibet and among Nepalese/Tibetan communities in Bhutan, as well as Sikkim state and Darjeeling district of India. It is one of the most popular fast foods in Nepal. Momos have also spread to other countries like United States (some parts), UK and India. MoMo used to be particularly part of cultural and traditional cuisine among the Newar community specially among Tuladhar and their related clans. Till mid 90s or some years after the Jana Andolan, MoMo was a popular cuisine only among Newars and Kathmanduites. Momo used to be home-cooked cuisine, only among Newar communities before mid 90s. At that time, only buffalo mince meat was used, which restricted expansion among Brahmin and Chhetri population. However, due to increased internal migration to and from Kathmandu, increased eating out culture, and freer economy, momo spread across Nepali cities and has been one of the most loved cuisine among Nepali diaspora. According to older generation of Newars, Mo:Mo might have been introduced by Newar merchants doing trade in Tibet. It is believed that momo got its name for being a steamed dish (in Newari/Nepal Bhasa, Mo means steam, mo:mo - implying steam steam), as per oral history. Till mid 2000s, momo was only limited among Nepali and Tibetian diaspora in India. However, by 2017, it has spread as one of the popular fast food in the Indian mega-cities.
35mm film shot of our old golden retriever, Misty and dachshund puppy, Mo Mo. Misty was an old girl when we got Mo Mo, but she was crazy about him. They were inseparable.
I'm caring for Momo while her parents are on vacation. She loves treats, pats, and catnip. She rubs my ankles and then slides down my shoe -- so cute!
