This is part of a short series dealing with the same concept and kind of place. Of the first, I wrote: There was a time, a century and more ago when most of the land in Vermont and this part of neighboring New York was cleared for grazing and crops. Over time, farming dwindled, the forest encroached to reclaim its acreage. Now there’s a handsome mix of farm and forest with its own ecology and appeal.
A mix of leafs from different trees I found on my yesterdays walking in the rain in the Dresden Heather. At a first glance I recognise oak, beech and maple. Do You see anything else ? A small ecosystem because when You make a really close look, You see many tiny insects sharing this new built living space.
Eine Mischung aus Blättern unterschiedlicher Bäume, die ich bei meinem gestrigen Regenspaziergang in der Dresdner Heide gefunden habe. Was ich auf den ersten Blick erkenne sind Eiche, Buche und Ahorn. Sehr Ihr noch was anderes ? Ein kleines Ökosystem, denn aus nächster Nähe betrachtet sieht man auch noch eine ganze Menge kleiner Insekten, die sich den neu geschaffenen Wohnraum teilen.

Parking lot lighting that was far off shined down nicely on this anchored boat along the rock shoreline of Maine. Made for a nice mix against that blue hour sky over the ocean.

Shot for Macro Mondays #BackInTheDay theme. When I was first got into music, this was the main medium for music. I remember spending hours recording the radio and making my own mix tapes. I don't miss that process.

Like a scene out of a kids layout with a mix of eras. CN 7304 at the ripe age of 63 works the CN Metal Distribution in Hamilton as the pinnacle of pain in the modern era blocks the view.

Late evening sunlight spills down the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada spotlighting a grove of quaking aspens changing into their fall clothes.
Beyond the fall colors, the mix of trees growing along the edge of valley caught my eye. Mixed in and around the aspen grove appear to be Jeffrey pine trees. And in the upper left on the image, a large cottonwood joins the fall party.

La E464-670 in vecchia livrea, traina 6 carrozze Vivalto in nuova colorazione proveniente da Torino Porta Nuova e diretto ad Alessandria. Come spesso è accaduto in passato, quando c'è un cambio di livrea, spesso non si punta a comporre un treno omogeneo, ma si mettono le locomotive a caso così da avere delle composizioni così oppure viceversa, ovvero con la macchina nuova davanti e le carrozze in livrea XMPR al traino.

We usually have wonderful fall color in this area when the maples turn red, then as they fade the aspens turn yellow. This year there are a few places where we have reds, yellows, and greens all at the same time. This scene is in Logan Canyon, Utah where the wide open spaces give us a great view of the scene.
