Dreams are where our minds try to make sense of everything in context of what we think we already know. Sometimes they can be a surreal mix of memories and new sensory information. Mostly they are benign, because the human mind tends to protect itself by suppressing our most unpleasant experiences, but you probably cannot suppress them all. A Nightmare is also a Dream - Wake Up!

Dear Mister Fantasy play us a tune

Something to make us all happy

Do anything take us out of this gloom

Sing a song, play guitar

Make it snappy

If you haven't seen the movie Dark City..do so!

Or possibly Mrs, or even Miss Green. I had been sitting by the bird bath with the camera posied and ready, as always living in hope of something landing right in front of me, and after twenty minutes of holding the camera in one position, I decided to lower the camera to my knee to give the arms a rest. Within a second, the green finch arrived, so not even wanting to twitch a millimetre, I pressed the shutter in hope that I was roughly aimed the right way. I didn't even want to attempt to pull out the flip screen for fear of spooking the finch. Luckily, I also run the Sony on full silent shutter mode too, so I was very happy to get a shot of this flighty little finch!

Male Northern Harrier, Goleta, CA.

I spotted this Harrier in a field of dry Mustard plants. It was quite a challenge to find a clear shot through the Mustard. I had to walk around a bit to get a good vantage point.

I took early morning hikes around More Mesa a few times last week. The Harriers gave me some really good looks. My previous post was a close encounter with a roosting female. I also saw a Short Eared Owl, but it was too far off to photograph.

Hello!

I am Mr. Paul. I got my driver's license today! I borrowed this car. I'm going for a drive. A number of bears can still ride with me. A co-driver and four bears in the back seat. Come quickly, because I'll be gone in fifteen minutes.

My mother gave me Paul when I was 9 years old. She won this vintage bear at the fair. He has a special place in the house. The arms and legs have become a bit flabby with age.

Going to the bear doctor soon

My 'Mister Lincoln' hybrid tea rose, photographed with my Canon 60D and a Canon 100mm macro lens.

My 'Mister Lincoln' was photographed in the front garden at Castle Hill, northwestern Sydney, in the early morning - after overnight rain had fallen.

Processed with three different effects.

Lovely to see these hardheads (aka white eyed ducks) return to our village lake hopefully to build a nest.
