Salyx, thinking...

She was wondering what camouflage, tools and equipment she would need in order to scale the eight foot, wrought iron bird feeders we’ve erected in the garden.

She knows it’s impossible.

One of my Flickr friends and I went for a photo shoot to Goliad TX... found the most beautiful buildings, and missions there. The small town, has around 1000 population, and has houses like you stepped back into history. Wanted to show more sides at one time, and tried this one, the really nice thing at that day was, that we had plenty of cloud cover...

Thank you all for looking at my stream, and your lovely comments. I do appreciate all of your loyalty.

Mission San José de Tumacácori.

Founded by Jesuit Father Eusebio Francisco Kino in January 1691, Mission San Cayetano de Tumacácori was the first mission to be located in what is now Arizona, and was part of the global Spanish mission system of colonization that attempted to create a self-sufficient agricultural community, convert local Indians to the Catholic religion, and generate revenue for Spain.

Mission Espada was established by Franciscans in 1690 by Spain in east Texas. After devastating losses from epidemics and threats of hostile attacks, the mission relocated in 1731 to present-day San Antonio, Texas, in what was then known as northern New Spain. The purpose of the mission was to convert local Native Americans to Christianity and to solidify Spanish territorial claims in the New World. Today, the structure is one of four missions that comprise San Antonio Missions National Historical Park.

To grow food for the residents, the mission needed access to water, but the climate around San Antonio is quite arid. After the move to San Antonio in 1731, work began right away to divert water from the San Antonio River. The work, completed in 1745, included a dam and acequia (aqueduct) eventually irrigating 3,500 acres (14 square km) of land. The acequia still carries water today.

In 2015, along with The Alamo, Mission Espada became one of five missions along the San Antonio River designated a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

Realising yesterday that Mars Mission is fifteen years old meant I suddenly had to build another Claw Tank tribute. This one is moving away from the original set and into a more GI Joe design, big and chonk, equal parts aggressive and goofy. I had the large orange treaded WIP lying around for ages (a failed Hibernia digger) so most of that got remixed into this monstrosity.
