' Life is a mirror and will reflect back to the thinker what he thinks into it .'

The water of Beaver Lake was as smooth as glass ...reflecting the clouds of an early morning in October . Asheville, N. C.
Have a nice day :-)
"Life is a mirror, and you see in it the reflection of your inner self."
Waqi Munim,
Rhythms of Life
" Mirror "
I hold it closely in my mind
I breath in softly as I can
Mirror can you see me now?
Hug me with a lullaby tonight
Far as far as eyes can reach
Deep, deepest of the seas
Mirror can you see me now?
Oh so high, but know that I will drown
Soft and tender
I surrender
Again
Lean and tender
I surrender
Again
People say, but they deny
I learned to read between their lines
Mirror can you see me now?
Giving in but know that I should not
How it feels to reach above
Be the one who gets your love
Mirror can you see me now?
Oh the lengths we take to reach your eyes
Soft and tender
I surrender
Again
Lean and tender
I surrender
Again

I may be on vacation (kinda, as I am still working during normal business hours for Eastern Time zone), but I am trying to keep some of the healthy habits. So for this past week, I did my usual 5K run in the morning. Yesterday though, the morning light was really gorgeous and there was absolutely no wind whatsoever. So I thought why not going to the lake for a few photos before heading our for the run. And I was rewarded by the view. I don't think I've seen Kaiafas lake more calm and I have been there countless times every summer. The absence of ripples made the water look completely still. Like a perfect mirror.

The sea is your mirror: you contemplate your soul in the infinite turning of its waves.

Late in the game again with a photo that is a pure act of desperation. Really. I didn't want to skip "High Key", because it is pretty much out of my comfort zone so I wanted to meet this challenge. But I wasn't sure what to photograph. At the end (which means today) a tiny, shiny miniature crown that once graced a pencil bought at the museum shop of the Deutsches Historisches Museum (I've already used this crown in another photo which you can find in the first comment) and another watch (a Casio which you might have already guessed) came to the rescue. But does this image make any sense? I don't think so. Except maybe for the fact that a tiny crown is reflected in the glass of a digital watch that doesn't have a crown, only pushers. Oh dear ;)
OK, so let's skip my unsuccessful attempt at trying to make sense of an image that doesn't make any sense and get to the technicalities: The glass of this watch is double-coated (on the outside and on the inside). Seen at the right angle (light from above aka sunshine works best) it lets the dial shimmer in lovely pastel rainbow colours. But the glass also works as a mirror. So I simply placed the crown in front of it, illuminated the glass with a single LED light so the rainbow colour coating would work its irresistible iridescent magic on the crown's reflection, and took a single handheld shot. Which had to do, because I was running out of time. The bokeh in the lower right corner is the golden crown itself. Processed in DXO PL6, Color Efex, and Viveza.
HMM, Everyone, and have a nice week ahead!
aren't you somethin' to admire?
'cause your shine is somethin' like a mirror
and I can't help but notice
you reflect in this heart of mine
if you ever feel alone and
the glare makes me hard to find
just know that I'm always parallel on the other side
it's like you're my mirror
my mirror staring back at me,♬♪ staring back at me ♬♪

"Mirrors don't lie. They only show a part of truth. A broken mirror can enlarge a face up to a dimension of a small planet. A problem of reflection? A point of view. "

The water was so calm that this female Ring-necked duck looked like she was sitting on a mirror. I took this photo at Gilbert Water Ranch in Gilbert Arizona USA

A Pied Avocet is searching for food. There was a magical light on that day, and the calm weather which didn't move the water surface gave us this beautiful reflection.

"I always have a mirror in front of me
which prevents me to see what is behind it.
I have never seen a biggest liar
and worst of all, it is like me ...
It looks very good while I'm not,
looks bad while i'm not that either.
Those who tell me "friend , stay as you are"
are those who lost the reflection.
I always have a mirror in front of me,
my heart falls on it and cracks,
my heart falls on it and cracks,
I always have a mirror in front of me ...
It reflects what women want
and so he convinces them that I am their other half.
They undress in front of it, they tell it sweet words,
behind the glass I look alone...
It plays as well as my standards
the divine voices that spoke to me as a child.
It brings them in front of me and in my size,
I go to reach them and clink the glass...
I always have a mirror in front of me,
my heart falls on it and cracks,
my heart falls on it and cracks,
I always have a mirror in front of me ...
I know that everyone now believes in mirrors,
on screens, in photocopiers and projectors,
They have made even games that players
live in a bowl and we all see them...
But I will brake my mirror in pieces,
I know that what he hides behindit, its you.
You who search through your black eyes
the only reflection in your life to be me."

"Era come essere introdotti in uno strano percorso che le mostrava chi fosse in sfumature diverse, e qualche volta le restituiva un'immagine distorta, discordie, qualcosa che la lasciava senza parole, che la spingeva a interrogarsi, a comprendere cosa ci fosse in fondo alla sua anima che solo lo specchio riusciva a rivelare."
