The Miramare Castle is located 6 km from Trieste, was built in 1856 by Maximilian of Habsburg, Archduke of Austria and Emperor of Mexico,is surrounded by a 22 hectares park with many varieties of plants. Is visited every year by many tourists.

Il Castello di Miramare e il suo Parco sorgono per volontà dell’arciduca Massimiliano d’Asburgo. E' un castello relativamente recente, la posa della prima pietra avviene il 1° marzo 1856. Alla Vigilia del Natale del 1860 Massimiliano e la consorte, Carlotta del Belgio, prendono alloggio al pianoterra dell’edificio mentre sono ancora in corso i lavori per il piano superiore.
L'arciduca Massimiliano ha avuto vita breve, nato nel 1832 nel 1864 venne proclamato Imperatore del Messico e nel 1867 venne fucilato dagli oppositori repubblicani.

The castle of Miramare located at Trieste was buildt by Ferdinand Maximilian of Habsburg, a brother of the austrian emperor and leader of the austrian navy. The building was finished in 1860. Some Mexicans and the french emperor Napoleon III. begged Maximilian several times to take the crown of Mexico and he accepted it in 1863. But the french troups left Mexico during the civil war. So Maximilian, the emperor of Mexico was executed in 1867 by order of the liberal President of Mexico Benito Juarez. So he never came back to Miramare.
Adiacente al Castello di Miramare c'è una zona protetta dal WWF, riguardante una ricca avifauna. Qui vedete uno scoglio semisommerso da dove si tuffa per le battute di caccia subacquea il "Marangone dal ciuffo" (Phalacrocorax aristotelis) .

il Castello visto dal parco..... punto evidentemente sfortunato questo per me, perchè, al momento del riprendere la foto, un mese fa, non mi sono accorto che avrei dovuto lasciare un pò di luce fra il pilone in primo piano e il basamento della parte destra del castello e, maggiormente disgraziato, molti anni fa quando, quindicenne, proprio in questo punto, diedi quello che restò l'ultimo bacio, alla bella Ileana, mio primo amore quattordicenne

I don't need special effects, incredible landscapes or extreme phenomena to have my eyes involved.
