This photo was taken 23 minutes later at the same observation lounge of Tochou (都庁) as the previous photo.

The road marked by taller buildings toward Fujisan is National Route 20, which is also called Koushuu Kaidou (甲州街道) as the trunk road leads to Yamanashi prefecture (山梨県), and Koushuu is its old name.

Shinjuku was originally developed as a post town on Koushuu Kaidou in the Edo era. Shinjuku (新宿) means “new post town.”

This one and the previous photo were taken roughly about 10-15 minues apart. You can see how light and conditions changed quickly. Stay safe and enjoy your week, friends!

Minutes before sunset, East Midlands Trains’ 156405 approaches Rauceby while working the 1445 Nottingham to Skegness service.

Despite large scale resignalling schemes across Lincolnshire in the last 10 years that have closed dozens of signal boxes, the Skegness line remains a manual signalling stronghold with 12 boxes still operational in early 2020. Opened by the Great Northern Railway in 1880, Rauceby is one of the older examples.

38 minutes of movement...

while on my last camping trip...in Arizona, I decided to do a very long exposure. one exposure, nothing stacked..

The car parks surrounding Llyn Padarn have had new height barriers installed. Sadly I agree that this had to be done after the selfishness of people over the last few years. I can still squeeze under but the Relay, Boxer, Sprinter, Crafter sized vans, motorhomes and any hi top van can't. All the car parks were spotless and empty. I could've stayed but the signs are clear that there is no overnighting of any kind. As usual my back up plan was an industrial estate which is only a ten minute drive away.

Managed to get here a little before 4am, made a brew and then down to the lakeside. There was a lady just packing up when I arrived. She had travelled up from Norfolk and had been here since 1am for a night of astro and to take time lapses of the MW rising.

Nothing so adventurous for me. Astro is something I know very little about and I've been watching a lot of tutorials with a view to attempting to try my hand at it. After four or five test shots I was happy with my settings. I managed only three more images before the mist rolled in from the Pass of Llanberis and within a few minutes I might as well have been shooting a white wall!

So this is the best of those three images. Looking forward to having a proper go at it over the next few months and remembering to turn my head torch off!

Is all we had with this little owl after searching for him for hours.

It was a long drive there and back and the owl has a large treed area in which to hunt/sleep. He finally showed up at a private property in the late afternoon and was actively searching for food. He didn't stay perched in this fir for more than 2 minutes, then he flew down and disappeared.

Amazing storm clouds at Melbourne, Derbyshire at sunset this evening, within minutes I was being hailed and sleeted on and then within another 5 minutes it was clear again...awesome weather

Taken at 7:17, nine minutes before sunrise in Chicago.

Long exposure that is several minutes long during the beginning of Blue Hour.

Pemaquid Point Lighthouse

This image was taken 10 minutes after my previous Mam Tor sunrise again sunrise/sunset filter with .09 grad firecrest filters stacked.

Again took bracket images of varying light and only working on a single image and not the need to blend images.

If I'd thought about it an open gate may have made for better composition still a great morning and worth getting up after 3.00am..

Green-veined White - Pieris napi on Great willow herb.

Great willow herb is a large herb that flourishes on damp ground, such as wet grasslands, ditches, riversides and woodland clearings. Deep pink flowers appear on the top of hairy stems from July to August and its fluffy seeds are dispersed by the wind.

What is willow herb good for?

Medicinal use of Willow Herb:

The herb is antispasmodic, astringent, demulcent, emollient, hypnotic, laxative and tonic. It is used in the treatment of diarrhoea, mucous colitis and irritable bowel syndrome. The plant is used in Germany and Austria to treat prostate problems.

Can you eat great willow herb?

It's not the best food, but being so abundant can be very useful. In the Springtime the young shoots and leaves can be eaten raw, and as they get older need to be steamed or boiled for 10 minutes. Treat the shoots like asparagus. The root can be cooked as a vegetable, added to stews.

I was so lucky to get this lifer owl with a couple. It was extremely difficult one hour hiking in the wet slippery raining day. No pain, no gain as people said. But Mother nature gave me a little break when I found the owls, it stopped raining. I got a few minutes to photograph these beautiful owls before I lost sun light. Thanks so much for your comments, favorite and views.

Special thanks: Rick

The final minutes of evening sun on the ornamental grass inside the roundabout, ideal for catching the light slanting down the directly west-aligned street.

Taken about 15 minutes later and a few steps down the beach from the last post. The blue light colors are beginning to fade. I particularly like this view because it includes Artists' Point to the right.

40 minutes before sunset on a January afternoon, the bare trees, disturbed sky and sodden countryside provide a typical mid-winter frame for a westbound train.

During the last winter of HST operation on London trains from the west of England, power-car 43022 trails 1C86, the 1503 from Paddington to Penzance away from Little Bedwyn in Wiltshire.

The last 5 minutes of sunlight on a brick wall with the electrical cable and ETSA box.

This was about 30 minutes after sunset when the pinks there in the far off clouds and above came to life for about 5 minutes. Captured this one of my daughter out there on the pier, posing there for a couple seconds :)

Sometimes the perfect light lasts only for minutes....and it exposes perfect imperfections. Grab it while you see it, grab it while you can! There's a lesson here somewhere!

Couldn't think of a name for this image so I consulted with my 10 year old. who, after a couple of minutes of thought came up with suggestion of 'Earth' which I think may just work.

...well sort of, guess it was 32 minutes to midnight but that´s the title I chose when I submitted this to a DPC challenge earlier this year.

I went out that night with my buddy Neil who has now moved to Sweden (don´t miss you one bit, good riddance!), I had been trying to drag his ass out for some borealis shooting for months. It was a good trip, the borealis we saw wasn´t spectacular but the trip to Nesjavellir was fun.

It was also the first and so far only time I dragged my then brand new camera out for some borealis shooting and boy, the quality did not dissapoint, can´t wait for the next season with it.

Oh and that is not a sunset, it set hours before I took this shot, it´s ambient light coming from Reykjavík.

VALLE ANGROGNA-PIEMONTE.ITALY (Ancora pochi minuti...)

This valley is about 20 minutes’ walk from my home here in Oldham, UK.

Its only mid-afternoon and the light is going down fast but it does give the added bonus of some fine low side lighting on this tranquil scene. It’s cold and we have a light powdering of snow to lift our hopes and spirits in these strange dangerous times.

HFF to one and all and have a fine safe weekend.

I saw this landscape out of the corner of my eye and stopped right before the bridge to take photos.

A few minutes later another car stopped. The driver got out and I heard him shout "Wow". Then he came to me and said he just stopped to see what I was photographing and he thanked me because otherwise he wouldn't have seen this landscape

One of our most beautiful songsters, the Grey Shrikethrush. Their song can transport you somewhere else for a few minutes. Photographed in Woodlands Historic Park, Greenvale.

Doc took his drone out in our backyard just minutes ago to record the sunrise on the shortest day of the year. This was taken at 11:00 AM Alaska time, and the outside temperature was five below zero. The Chugach Mountains can be seen in the distance, with Tazlina Glacier nestled in the center.

Doc wants to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

* It only took about 15 minutes to drive from Plockton to the village of Kyle of Lochalsh . This is where the relatively new bridge to the Isle of Skye is situated . It then takes about two hours to reach the most northerly township of Kilmaluag on the Trotternish Peninsula. This image was taken at a lay by just north Of Digg a very attractive spot to have a sandwich and stretch the legs

The isle of Skye is very beautiful its coastline varied and dramatic . The Cullin mountains in particular are a wonderful sight. Sadly though Skye was very busy, the only part of out trip were this was the case . We were hoping to get a close look Old Man of Storr and take a walk in The Quiraing. In both cases the car parks were absolutely rammed and it was impossible to park up. The drive up to the carpark for the The Quiraing was particularly tiresome. It was a steep climb up a twisty single track road for about six miles. I was clear half way up that the car park would be full but it was impossible to turn round. . We had to drive all the way to the top before driving round the full car park and the descending down the same dammed road . Given it was mid week in late September I had not expected Skye to be so busy. It must be crazy there in the main holiday season

This thunderstorm was becoming more defined as it strengthened.

National Weather Service had a severe warning on this cell as it was slowly moving to the east northeast. As we were east of Minden Nebraska and were finally able to pull out ahead of this cell.

We paused for a few minutes to absorb the moment!

Less than 10 minutes up the path from the more well known Russell Falls in Tasmania is Horseshoe Falls, which is a much smaller waterfall with two drops and the ability to get very close to the action.

I visited on a near freezing morning in late October and was amazed by the colour and composition of both the waterfall and the rainforest itself.

Shots taken during a brief walk around my neighbourhood. The fiery sky lasted perhaps 10 minutes before settling into a twilight dusk.

At sunrise, for just a handful of minutes, the sun shines on the top of the mountaing creating a beautiful coloured top.

Serra da Estrela (Star Mountain) is Portugal’s mainland highest mountain. At 1,993 metres at its highest point in Torre, Serra da Estrela is an area of rare landscape beauty. You can take advantage of the moments of communion with nature to discover the diversity of plants and birds and the flocks of sheep herded by Estrela dogs from the breed named after the mountain.

In cold weather, Serra da Estrela is the only place in Portugal where you can try ski, or go sledging, snowboarding or ride a snowmobile. Albeit small, there are several runs with support infrastructure, as well as artificial snow runs for skiing at any time of the year.

This natural park is excellent for trekking, horse-riding or mountain biking. It boasts some 375km of marked trails of varying degrees of difficulty.
