The holiday season has begun.
It has at Mummy Marian’s too.
Oleg is lying in a deckchair in the garden, enjoying the warm sunshine, whilst Peter would rather be out and about.
That’s why Mummy Marian has given him a camera so he can take photos of all the flowers and creatures in her garden over the coming weeks.
On the condition that the camera is only to be used in the garden.
PETER: (thinking)
Mummy Marian said I’m only allowed to take photos of flowers and living creatures. Oleg is a living creature too, so I’m allowed to take a photo of him
Peter grabs his camera... points the lens at Oleg... and... click, the photo is taken.
PETER:
Oops... the flash was on
OLEG: (a loud cry)
Lightning... it’s storming
PETER:
You were dreaming, Oleg, go back to sleep
The camera is a keychain mini camera with a flash.

This was my first idea for Macro Mondays "Photograpic equipment". I bought this mini digital camerar for fl 10,--, (so before 2022) you could make ten pictures in a very very low resolution. After I took the ten pictures the camera broke down.

Dit was mijn eerste idee voor Macro Mondays "Photograpic equipment". Ik kocht deze mini digitale camerar voor 10 gulden, dus voor 2002, je kon tien foto's maken in een heel erg lage resolutie. Nadat ik de tien foto's had gemaakt, begaf het cameraatje het.
Whether it is digital or analog, mini cameras are the most trendy thing happening in the industry. Digital Minox, Rollei, Diana mini, Digital Harinezumi (just released new white edition), etc. They are all in this tiny little promotion happening in Festival Walk and APM LOG-ON.
And yes we are including the Olympus E-P1 too coz it is somewhat a smaller version of SLR. If you missed the chance to grab a Lomo mini camera keychain packaged in beautifully printed film cans, they are now back in stock, talking about 20% the size of the actual camera (hmmm, I did say they are keychains, not real cameras).
Most of us are bored by the strap came with our cameras right, so we've been collecting from Korea and Japan some of the nicest straps ever produced and some of them are here, the rest will be coming to the stores this year.
Friends from Lomo, Superheadz and Fujifilm gave us some very nice supports including some left over film canisters, cute POP and displays, etc and I feel thankful for their generosity and help. Superheadz even shipped from Japan a dozen foam boards printed with versions of the lovely Russian girl character.
One of the pink display took me a few hours to create using films, MT tapes and various products from other departments. If you have time, please do visit these two stores and see if they are still intact :) This promotion lasts for 2 weeks from now on. Hope you like it and able to find some inspirations from it. Today is officially the start of Little Danbo's adventure into the world so I decided to start a 365 project featuring my new friend!
I will try my best to take 1 photo a day for 365 days, each one will in some way contain Danbo!

Macro Monday: Theme: My favorite small thing
This is a mini camera keychain that goes everywhere with me. It's a sort of good luck charm. I'm not really that superstitious but I try not to leave the house without it.
It has a working flash and it also happens to be Danbo's favorite accessory : )
Featured here today bathed in pink light in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Found this little puppy recently, and immediately fell in love with its Bakelite quirkiness. It's very small, and some on the interwebs call it a "Spy Camera", though I would dispute that. It used a proprietary film as did all the cameras manufactured by the Universal Camera Corp., of New York. Apparently, it originally sold for 39 cents, and a roll of film, for 10 cents. I paid a bit more for this camera, in its original box.
