The "Ticka Camera" was a clone of the "Expo Camera" that was made by Houghton under license with The Expo Camera Co.. Both cameras were characterized as "watch-pocket cameras". I assume either the inscription "T-H-C" = The Houghton Company, or "H-T-C" = Houghton Ticka Camera". I've never seen one of these variants before. As found recently in the kodakcollector archive.
This is the "Minolta 110 Zoom". It is a 110mm, single lens reflex camera produced by Minolta from 1976 to 1979.
The 110 Zoom is an very unusual camera for a number of reasons. First, simply the fact that it is a 110mm SLR. Very few SLRs were designed to utilize the 110 format. Second, it's unusual flattened shape. Other 110 SLRs such as the Pentax Auto 110 resembled a 35mm SLR. However, in 1979 Minolta released a successor to the 110 Zoom called the "110 Zoom Mk II", which featured a more conventional SLR shape. Third, it was one of the few 110 cameras that could detect the ISO of the film cartridge (from 100 to 400 ISO) and automatically adjust the exposure settings.
The camera itself is very well built, and features high quality lenses which rivaled most 35mm SLRs at the time. It requires 2 LR44 batteries to operate, and has a manual exposure override of -2 to +2.

I have NEVER seen a complete Tessina kit IN THE BOX before!
Danbo found 2 very odd metal lines running on to the horizon.
He had never heard of a train before, his eyes lit up in amazement at the thought of seeing one.
So we waited hours and hours but no train came :'-(
But I promised Danbo he'd ride on one soon....
I was telling Danbo how Santa doesn't come at Christmas to bad robots...
This upset Danbo to the point he leaked a little mechanical fluid...
I comforted him saying that he was a good robot... bless
Despite my best efforts the pictures still look quite grainy. But all things considered, I am amazed that anything came out at all. One time I tried scanning some 110mm negatives at 48000 dpi and they looked terrible.
If you look closely at the center of the disc, you can barely make out somebody with a camera pointing towards the middle of wheel (top have of a face with glasses, top of a camera pointed sideways, and what look like fingers holding something before - maybe a release cable?). Maybe it is the photographer who took the picture that became the picture disc? Perhaps these pictures were originally postcards which were laid on a table and photographed? (they do seem to have a generic, "stock image" quality to them) (Not the thin, dark blue lines aligning the pictures)
I haven't been able to find any information about the "camera" itself, but I do recall a couple of touristy, souvenir shops in downtown Halifax selling these in the 1990s. If anyone has more information about this particular item and who made it, please let me know!
Danbo went out to Wellington Botanical Gardens today and had a nap in a tree overlooking the river.

Rain, rain and more rain. This is the same beautiful resdidential complex that was built by Pablo Zabalo BallarÃn in 1926 (previous foto: www.flickr.com/photos/minidreamer/4031333301/) but this time during a rainy night. No tripod and my minicamera ended a little bit wet, because rain during the last three days has been a flood xD. Yes I know it has some noise but my camera is a small compact camera, but with carl zeiss lenses :)

Sin trÃpode y mi minicámara acabó un poquito mojada porque la lluvia estos últimos tres dÃas ha sido todo un diluvio xD. SÃ, ya se que tiene algo de ruÃdo pero mi cámara es una pequeña cámara compacta, pero eso si con lentes de carl zeiss :)

J Bird loves this mini Bella we found at a party store. It flashes and makes shutter snapping noises. Really cute. As you can tell, we are very easily entertained. That's just how we roll.
Whether it is digital or analog, mini cameras are the most trendy thing happening in the industry. Digital Minox, Rollei, Diana mini, Digital Harinezumi (just released new white edition), etc. They are all in this tiny little promotion happening in Festival Walk and APM LOG-ON.
And yes we are including the Olympus E-P1 too coz it is somewhat a smaller version of SLR. If you missed the chance to grab a Lomo mini camera keychain packaged in beautifully printed film cans, they are now back in stock, talking about 20% the size of the actual camera (hmmm, I did say they are keychains, not real cameras).
Most of us are bored by the strap came with our cameras right, so we've been collecting from Korea and Japan some of the nicest straps ever produced and some of them are here, the rest will be coming to the stores this year.
Friends from Lomo, Superheadz and Fujifilm gave us some very nice supports including some left over film canisters, cute POP and displays, etc and I feel thankful for their generosity and help. Superheadz even shipped from Japan a dozen foam boards printed with versions of the lovely Russian girl character.
One of the pink display took me a few hours to create using films, MT tapes and various products from other departments. If you have time, please do visit these two stores and see if they are still intact :) This promotion lasts for 2 weeks from now on. Hope you like it and able to find some inspirations from it. When he got back he showed me that he had learnt to write his name. He was so excited bless him.
Now he wants to become a writer apparently!
Danbo got himself a bike today, he was so excited till he realized he didn't know how to ride it...

Found this little fella a few days ago in the depths of our "crap cupboard" (we all have one, no judgements). It's a mini digital camera we got my little bro for his, like, 6th birthday or something.
It used to be pretty nifty back in the day. You plugged it into your computer to see the images, which were a grand total of 2 megapixels in size, I believe. I know, contain your excitement!
It's been banished to the back of our downstairs cupboard for a while now, so I thought I'd bring it out to air and hit it with some sun.
Also, look at the crazy bokeh on this one! Love sunny mornings. I know the highlights in this are completely blown but I kinda like that effect.
To celebrate my 10th year on flickr, I decided to upload something a little different. It is not really a camera, but it is a souvenir/toy made to look like a camera.
The principal is similar to one of those View-Masters; you look through a little view finder and inside you have a disc containing pictures, each time you press a button the disc moves to the next picture. Except in this case you can't remove the picture disc, and the pictures themselves are very, very tiny (only 2mm by 4mm!). The disc itself is only 2.3 cm across (about the size of a quarter) contains various snap-shots of Nova Scotian landmarks including: Fort Louisburg (Cape Breton), Peggy's Cove and Light House (Nova Scotia), the Citadel Clock Tower (Halifax), Evangeline National Historic Site (Grand-Pre), Halifax Public Gardens (Halifax), and the Bluenose II schooner.
The "camera" itself it quite simple, being made entirely out of a cheap plastic (likely made in China). The advance mechanism is also very simple, consisting of only 3 parts. A rectangular piece of plastic which acts as a button, held in place by a piece of wire (acting as a spring) connected to a plastic wheel holding the picture disc. When the button is pressed the rectangular piece of plastic pushes the wheel via to plastic nubs, the piece of wire (spring) makes the rectangular piece return to its normal position after being released.
I wanted to see if it was possible to scan the tiny picture disc and recover images from it. It know that it is possible to scan View-Master reels as the images are 11mm x 11.5. However, in this case I was dealing with images that were nearly 1/15th that size. Carefully removing the picture disc from the "camera", I scanned it as a colour side at the highest resolution I could (48000 dpi). It took a little fiddling with the scanner settings to get a decent image. Admittedly, I had to adjust the brightness in Photoshop as the disc kept coming out dark for some reason.
