“Mindfulness is awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgementally,” says Jon Kabat-Zinn.
While mindfulness is something we all naturally possess, it’s more readily available to us when we practice on a daily basis.
I discovered the MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) a few months ago and followed the 8 weeks program.
Over these 8 weeks I felt happier and more centered. I am definetely more compassionate with myself, and my communication has gotten clearer with those around me. The most amazing part for me is that I wake up in the morning overhelmed by an unexpected joy and noticing things I have not prior because I was focusing on the past or future. This course has been an amazing experience to me, it made my heart feel lighter, my mind open and my soul more at peace.Through everyday's meditation practice I learned to "inhabit my life" differently. A true gift! I am so grateful to this program and to my beloved teacher Myrto Legaki!

The embroidered piece of cloth was planned to become part of the bag in which this ledger will live. Changed my mind and added it on the last blue page. Now it will live a protected life as well ... :-))
Enjoy your weekend!
~The Summer Day~
Who made the world?
Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
This grasshopper, I mean-
the one who has flung herself out of the grass,
the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,
who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down-
who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes.
Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.
Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.
I don't know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn't everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?

Me having fun while the sun was out and about for a while. This sample will become part of a ledger later on.
Good Morning Saturday!
✨
Let’s start this weekend with peace in our hearts and wonder in our eyes. The world is overflowing with beauty – you just have to pause, breathe, and take it in. 🌱🌞
Whether it’s misty mountain peaks or golden sunrises by the sea, nature always has a way of reminding us what really matters.
You don’t need a plan – just a moment. Just step outside, and let it all sink in. 🌍💫
Hi people, I’m Tonny Froyen, a creator and photographer from Norway, sharing the light and mood that nature paints across the sky each day. I capture those little sparks that inspire big feelings.

Nothing comes between me and my embroidery: not a big storm nor 4 fingers with big burn blisters .. :-)))
Have a grand sunday and be careful when your adventures being wants to go outside ... :-))
The word fragility is on my mind in all kinds of different contexts and that's the reason why it has become part of my new art-journal
This sample is stitched on two layers of bamboo paper. The paper is very thin and rips easily and therefore two layers.
The sample feels and looks like a piece of cloth due to the density of the six layers of stitch.
Really happy with my piece of plaid.
Have a great weekend!

Halfway with a long row of cross-stitch in a mix of organic merino wool and organic cotton.Last week I made notes for a new big project and this is the start of it. The paper is from an old genealogy book which was printed in the early 1940's. Used this paper before and it is absolutely wonderful to stitch on.

Here you can see the start of the blue layer which is the finishing touch of this strip of cross-stitch. The strip is just over 30 cm's long and 3,5 cm's wide.
Last week at the thriftshop I found some baby Alpaca mixed with mulberry silk which normally is used to knit. The thread was thin enough, felt very soft and loved the colour. So I brought it home and made a strip of lovely, unruly memories.
It is unusual to do bullion knots on paper and it is unusual to do bullion knots with knitting wool. But that's absolutely fine by me ... :-)
Enjoy the start of your new week!
