This is my bowl of wheatgrass zoats!
1/2c egg whites
1/2c cashew milk
1/3 zucchini grated
2 Tbs coconut flour
1 tsp @wheatgrass_people wheatgrass
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
2 droppers of @sweetleafstevia vanilla creme stevia
Pinch of salt
Combine in a small sauce pan and stir constantly over medium low heat until it turns into oatmeal consistency.

Thanks to CK Hall* for the recipe! Certainly, you could make this without the figs and can use other kinds of milk, but this a beautiful way to add both figs and chocolate to your green drink, especially for kids who are picky eaters.

Lawrence, Kansas, September 2015—Alfalfa has been around for so long that it’s “root” name comes from Arabic, which means “father of all foods.” Speaking of roots, the roots of #alfalfa can grow up to 39 feet, extending deep into the earth to reveal a host of nutrients—all of them good for us.

Have we forgotten that the reason we take green superfoods is to get more GREEN food nutrition in our diets?
In order to maximize the profits for companies selling them, Green foods are often packaged in cheap plastic tubs or cheap paper packets. In fact, even some wheatgrass is packaged that way.

We are sometimes asked why Pines (wheatgrass.com) doesn’t develop a line of #superfood “meals” like other companies with dozens of different #vegetables, #fruits, herbs, #chocolate and #probiotics.
Primarily, we see such products as gimmicks. Many consumers want to believe that a long list of ingredients is a good thing. It is not.
With dozens of ingredients, there is no way a consumer receives much of any one of them. Further, we don’t want to dilute the nutrient-density of wheatgrass and alfalfa, which is all certified as #organic. #nongmo, #kosher, #glutenfree.
We think it would be a bad idea to dilute our high quality products that we grow ourselves with outsourced ingredients with lower nutrient density from questionable sources through an unregulated marketplace where an ingredient can change hands several times before it is mixed into one of these blends. Such blends can never have certifications like all Pines' products because many of the outsourced ingredients are not certified.

Despite flowery advertising, the most compelling reason for companies to mix all these ingredients is because the filler ingredients in the mix cost considerably less. But the lower nutrient-density of these filler ingredients is why it takes 8 or more grams of one of these complicated blends to equal the nutrition of a 3.5 gram serving of a #greensuperfood from Pines.
Another problem with blends is the consumer cannot inspect the individual ingredients. What was the color of the wheatgrass?. Was it green? When dozens of ingredients are mixed together, the consumer is unable to check each one for color, flavor, taste and aroma.
Some people may be allergic to one or more ingredients in these complicated blends. Moreover, many nutritional authorities caution against mixing some foods and herbs.
The prospect of one of the outsourced ingredients needing a recall is also a concern for us We would rather package what we grow on our own farms so we know how it was grown, handled and tested.

"Up close and personal to this morning's pre long run waffles! Inspired by @ottos_cassava_flour waffle recipe found on @laurafranklin's freshandfrank.com
I adapted the recipe to a single serving with a full serving of Pines Wheat Grass from the @wheatgrass_people! One of my recent health goals is to consume more green things.
Recipe for waffles:
1/4c @ottos_cassava_flour
1tsp #PinesWheatGrass powder
Scant 1/4tsp salt
1/2tsp baking powder
1/8-1/4tsp cinnamon
1/2 banana
1 whole egg
3/4tsp vanilla extract
2tsp @nutiva coconut oil
Dropper of @sweetleafstevia (optional but do it)
1/3c cashew milk (any non dairy milk is fine)
^ preheat waffle iron & combine everything in a blender until smooth. Makes two amazing waffles!
In an effort to pack as much color and nutrients into my food as possible I also added 1/4 tsp more wheatgrass powder (to create a full serving of wheatgrass powder) to plain @wallabyyogurt Greek yogurt mixed with powdered @anthonysgoods erythritol sweetener. I then used @wildhibiscusco butterfly pea flower extract and decorated 🌎 the waffle with the fortified yogurt containing tons of health benefits!
