Vessel (TKA) is a structure and visitor attraction built as part of the Hudson Yards Redevelopment Project in Manhattan, New York City, New York. Built to plans by the British designer Thomas Heatherwick, the elaborate honeycomb-like structure rises 16 stories and consists of 154 flights of stairs, 2,500 steps, and 80 landings for visitors to climb. Vessel is the main feature of the 5-acre (2.0 ha) Hudson Yards Public Square. Funded by Hudson Yards developer Related Companies, its final cost is estimated at $200 million.

St. Patrick's Cathedral

We spent an evening walking around Manhattan a few days after Christmas. It was very busy, and I found it difficult to use my tripod. This is one of only 3 shots I took with my camera - I took many more with my cell phone. It was simply easier. Imagen del Midtown Manhattan desde el mirador cerrado del rascacielos One World Trade Center, este mirador se encuentra a 417 metros de altura en la planta 102...No le pidais peras al olmo, porque esta captura la realicé a pulso, a través del cristal de los ventanales apilados de visitantes mirando el espectáculo y acercandome todo lo que pude a esos vidrios para evitar en lo posible los reflejos parasitos de la iluminación interior....Por lo tanto, para mi esta fotografía solo tiene el valor de poder compartir esta espectacular vista desde este fantástico lugar y que no está al alcance de todos. :):):)

This 50-foot steel sculpture in the plaza of the McGraw-Hill building is an oblique triangle whose three sides are designed to point at the noon sun on the first day of each season (equinox and solstice). The top points to the sun at noon on the autumnal and spring equinox, the tallest side points to the sun on the first day of summer, and the shortest side is in line with the sun on the first day of winter.

Midtown madness, that is Manhattan, sad to say this view is no more. The reckless, greed, of developers now mostly foreigners have drastically changed the skyline of NYC. Now icons of the past have been enveloped and hidden from sight. City skyline now reflects city's new personality a dump of greed gentrification

Al no salir elegida New York para albergar los Juegos Olimpicos de 2012 y desestimarse la construcción del West Side Stadium (Estadio Olimpico), la ciudad decidió reurbanizar el lugar, con el proyecto de este nuevo barrio de muy reciente creación, llamándolo Hudson Yard. Este es un proyecto de enormes proporciones, en el que algunos de sus edificios son los más altos de New York , como el "30 Hudson Yards" (También conocido como North Tower, en el centro de la foto) este es un rascacielos de oficinas de 387 metros de altura con una enorme terraza suspendida de auténtico vertigo (Aún no está en servicio) Este nuevo barrio dispone además de oficinas, también de zona residencial con escuelas, grandes superficies y zonas de ocio, tiendas y la enorme estación de Pensylvania bajo sus entrañas...Todo esto en el antiguo West Side Yards a orillas del rio Hudson.

Imagen del nuevo y espectacular barrio neoyorquino Hudson Yards, capturada al final de la calle 34 (W 34th St) en su intersección vial con la avenida numero 12 (12th Ave) paralela al rio Hudson a mi espalda...En la imagen algunos de los rascacielos de este nueva zona de uso comercial y residencial con alturas entre los 200 y 400m. Debajo de ellos la estación de trenes de Pensilvania (Penn Station) y a sus pies en el centro puede verse la famosa y vanguardista arquitectura en forma de copa llamada Vessel, que es una estructura de 16 pisos unidos por escaleras en nido de abeja y 46m de altura a modo de mirador con interes turístico, formando un conjunto muy aereo y espectacular...en la imagen se puede comparar los 46m de altura del Vessel (Que de por si ya impone estando bajo ella) con los edificios que la rodean.

Puente de Queensboro en su inicio entre las calles 59 y 60 del Medio Manhattan...La foto está capturada a través de la ventana del telesférico de Roosevelt Island, en su trayecto desde esta isla, hasta su terminal entre el puente y los rascacielos del Midtown.
