Captured on the beach Bøsanden in the North of Norway. The sun is almost setting behind mountain wall of Lofoten in the far distance. Three vertical shifts stitched to a panorama in LR. Some edit in PS.

Thank you all for taking a close look at my images, I really appreciate it!

Tromsø is north of the Arctic Circle but has a subpolar oceanic climate with mild winters and cool summers due to the Gulf Stream. It is sheltered from severe Atlantic storms by a range of mountains to the west.

HonningsvĂ¥g is the northernmost city of Norway located in the Nordkapp (North Cape) municipality. Although it is located at the northern extreme of Europe, it has a subarctic climate without permafrost, thanks to the Gulf Stream. The ice-free Barents Sea provides rich fisheries. Tourism is also important to the town. The North Cape’s midnight sun is famous. It never rises in winter or sets in summer and in fact, it is only 2,100 km (1,300 mi) from the North Pole.

This is what passes for a summer sunset in Svalbard. In this region far above the arctic circle, the pale sky of the midnight sun lends another aspect of nature's beauty.

Amazing experience as the sun was rising on the eastern side of the Snæfellsnes peninsula whereas it was still setting on the western side - picture taken at 00h15. It was unfortunately too cloudy to try and get something out of the western side, but the sunrise was amazing.

A capture of the midnight sun and the Northsea waves breaking....

rural Lofoten landscape around 2am in the wee hours of the night in August, about one month after complete midnight sun. I found the light, the rising mist and the entire scenario ever so mysterious and beautiful, a true Midsummernightsdream above the Arctic Circle

mist rising from a lake shortly before midnight on the Lofoten islands near Leknes. Standing there is amazing for all is quiet and calm like in any night but one can see almost like in day time.

Back to Greenland with a series of new images. Different approach in post-processing as I felt colors were somewhat detracting from the icebergs themselves. Here, mid to late evening under the midnight sun. These images have been grouped together at www.flickr.com/photos/132192297@N04/albums/72157712965713538.

All is quite as the tide ebbs at mid-night in a remote part of East Greenland. In the far right distance icebergs that have become grounded in a narrow channel can be seen.

Thank you all for taking a look at my images, its much appreciated!

I have such fond memories of this summer night during our first visit to the Lofoten islands two years ago, images of which I am currently archiving. We came back from a long excursion all the way South to Reine and it was about one hour after midnight when we passed this place and saw the mist rising in the meadowmwhile the twilight past Midnightsun was still offering enough light to shoot this without long exposure. I LOVe the mood to it and the curtain of wild flowers in front while the peaks of the Lofoten Wall form the dark backdrop.

The midnight sun is an experience you absolutely must live at least once in your life. It's a fairy-tale atmosphere with the shaving sun that never goes below the skyline. The light is golden and captivating. It envelops the world in a magical atmosphere.

Henningsvær is a fishing village in VĂ¥gan Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located on several small islands off the southern coast of the large island of AustvĂ¥gøya in the Lofoten archipelago. The village is located about 20 kilometres (12 mi) southwest of the town of Svolvær. Henningsvær is connected to the rest of VĂ¥gan via the Henningsvær Bridges. The village is mostly located on the islands of Heimøya and Hellandsøya.

The 0.3-square-kilometre (74-acre) village has a population (2018) of 510 which gives the village a population density of 1,700 inhabitants per square kilometre (4,400/sq mi).[1] Due to its traditional fishing village architecture, Henningsvær draws many tourists. Climbing and diving/snorkeling are also popular tourist activities. Henningsvær Church is located in the village, on the island of Heimøya.

A misty covered pond in later evening in Yellowknife area. As the cool air of late evening encounters the warmth of the water a mini fog bank develops that stands out from its surroundings.

Too tired to mount the camera on the tripod, after 12 hours hiking and 4 more to go, at least I managed to get a handheld shot of this magic place in the middle of the night one hour past midnight!

Thank you for visiting!

one from my archives from our first summer stay in Iceland. It was about midnight (mind you Iceland has midnight sun in summer) and we were sitting outside and within few moments the moon started appearing behind a Medalfells peak and within 50 minutes we saw the full moon rising and disappearing again behind the same mountain and that was all the night we got :D
