La féérie des neiges...
Voici une composition où l'oiseau se situe un peu plus loin qu'à mon habitude; ce fut une des belles et rares occasions que m'ont offertes les Cardinaux rouges lors de mon passage ce jour-là. Extrêmement farouches, ils fréquentent assidûment les mangeoires disponibles dans ce secteur du parc. Cette présentation me permet autant d'illustrer la douce neige qui tombait alors – rendant la scène des plus féériques –, que la fort jolie présence de cette belle dame. Il y avait autour de moi plus d'une douzaine de spécimens de l'espèce. Impressionnant regroupement.

Went back to one of my favorite statues for another bokeh-pano. Compared to previous MESSIS, this version, due to different angle, light, lens and shooting distance, has quite a different feel. Shot with Minolta MD 50mm f1.4 lens on Panasonic G3; 30 frames stitched in total.
I held little Messi in place like that with a match stick and blu-tack (Then with the help of photoshop, it's gone). With the ball I stuck a tiny bit of tack on fishing line and onto the ball. I swung it back and forth towards the camera in a pendulum motion. Got the shutter speed to what I wanted and Voila, Messi Magic

We have a festival called Barnaby taking place at the moment, and there were street performers in the town centre at the weekend. This boy stepped forward in his football shirt and I just knew it would make a great photo :D.

Update - 8 Jul 2014 - this photograph place 9th (out of 700 photos) in a photocrowd contest, winning an expert review and a crowd vote award. I'm thrilled!
