Well! i must say going back and redoing much of the mesh, and textures has paid off. and with the new intuitive hud system that will be released with these ears, will help you pick a color to easily match your skin tone (however natural, or unnatural)! it of course, comes with some base tones, hand painted, naturally. but also comes with a bevy of skin tones tints to select from! Of course, this hud, and the new position hud, now requires much texture work. i want to try to aim for a saturday morning release. but we will see how that goes. all in all, in my first venture to making to non fluffy ears, not too bad! and yes...ive been working on this since about 10pm....and its 4am now and i am so tired!
*also, side note, these ears are fully brand new hand made mesh, by me. and they are layered mesh. so you can tint the skin, shadings, rim color, tattoo layer to anything you like! you can even make them glow, adjust transparency, and shiny! they will also be materials enabled.
(still have a lil texture tweaking to do as well)

Similar to the one I had a few months earlier. Still just as delicate and labour intensive. Chef Li's attention to details have always been impressive.

This is a series of snapshots taken in the SL Mesh Beta of a pair of doors modeled in Solidworks by my associate Robert Conklin for his house. We imported them in 3ds Max and exported to Collada, then I brought them into Sl and added the wood texture. Note that the etched glass pattern is not a texture, but a Mesh object so it is not pixilated and there are no alpha issues..
When going to park for kinder attractions, I carry with me some small camera and try to find bits of time to look for photo opportunities.

So I registered for an art class at the University of Oregon this term. I did this because I need some experience using software like Final Cut Pro, PhotoShop, and InDesign, and I thought that an art class would be the best way to get what I'm looking for.
For our first assignment, we are supposed to take 48 pictures of still image "textures," of which 12 (or more) will be selected for use. These "textures" will be cropped, altered, and enhanced during our labs. Then we're going to plug them into VR-Works to create a moving montage of sorts.
Additionally, we will be required to create 24 of our own sounds to be used in our abstract movie. (Something like recording the washing machine while it's running, then warping the audio line through the use of additional software to create something unique.)
This isn't what I expected, but it should be a lot of fun, and I look forward to posting what I come up with here on Flickr!
