Fun Fact: I ordered this little guy from Amazon and I thought I was getting the black Beetle. It seems someone wanted me to have the yellow one. Fate? Hehe! He's cute either way and I love him all the same. :)

Each year we go out to find that perfect tree that will become our ONE. I have been trying to make it a habit to post a picture of our beautiful tree as we see it. Here is this year's new addition to the family. It was a sort of odd this year though, no snow! It was a little depressing but still, it is about making memories.....not whether it snowed. We found our ONE regardless, our perfect Christmas Tree. :)

May your Christmas be merry and bright. May all your dreams come true. Merry Christmas to all my lovely Flickr friends. I appreciate each one of you. I look forward to a new year of your photography!
Fun Fact: I wanted to do something I’ve never done and I couldn’t help myself. This year I was so inspired and thought it’d be great to bring out my Christmas album with a bang! This lead me to thinking, with a suggestion from a friend, to add a flying Santa sleigh to the moon. I debated back and forth but decided, it’s Christmas. Step out of the box and do something magical!

It looks like Inky the Elf is getting himself into a bit of trouble. Hehe. He loves himself a little mischief, but then again, who doesn't? ;)
A cookie is a good start but I think maybe we need a couple glasses of boozy eggnog for the loud cheering? Hehe.
Two more nights and we are there! Merry Christmas!

I am a geek for Christmas songs. As soon as Sirius XM gets their Christmas channels up, I am listening. I find it relaxing. The Holiday Traditions is my favorite. I love that old time feel that the greats like Dean Martin, Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra bring to the season. :)

My first shot of my Christmas album for 2020. I took 2 different shots last night and ended up not liking either. I hurried around today searching the house frantically for something to take a shot of of and came up with this. I hope it is a good enough start to my 25 Days of Christmas.

Fun Fact: I made the teeny wreath out of a pipe cleaner. I cut the ribbon in half to make it smaller for the bow and then glued it all together. Of course first of which again gluing my hands and everything else but the wreath, haha!

I saw this in a magazine, Real Simple. It was an article on how to make brown paper packages look nice. It said, "Sketch a jar on your paper with a white wax pencil, then tie a few small springs of dried flowers and foliage to the box with a simple piece of twine." I thought it was a lovely idea but instead of doing it on a package I did it on a piece cardboard. I thought I would put it in a shadowbox or frame and set it out. It is very classy for Christmas, I think.
Fun Fact: I did not use a wax pencil. I don't even know what that is, haha. I used chalk and it worked great. :)
I have photographed this cassette player in the past. Inside is a cassette of my great grandfather telling his life story. He explains how he came over here from Perugia Italy when he was only a young boy at the tender age of 16. He shares his entire inner workings of his life in his own words.
I did not get to know my great grandfather well. He was already well into his late 90's when I was a little girl. I only remember him vaguely in clips like a dream. It is nice to be able to have this relic to bring me closer to the man that time never allowed me know.
Not only is this a treasured item but it has also become a tradition to listen to this cassette around Christmas. It seems fitting to do so around Christmas when the need to feel my loved ones close, even those whom have passed on, is much more heightened.

I know this isn't in my usual spirit and this movie is rather crude but it doesn't hurt to have an all out laugh once in awhile. :)

I am doing the whole, taking pictures and not liking them thing again! I am not sure if it is because my inspiration is failing or what? Lets hope I can continue to get a shot for each day! :)

Fun Fact: I had to glue the little jute cord to the horn and then glue the star confetti to the jute. It was not easy. Spent most the time gluing my fingers together instead of the props. Things are simply too tiny for my fingers I guess, hehe.

Of Course I have to do a standard Christmas ornament hanging on our Christmas tree. What would a 25 Days of Christmas be without that? Hehe

Today is The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. I would like to say, thank you to Mother Mary for saying YES! :) May we all be so faithful and trusting to let go and let God take us where we need.

I realized after posting that I probably should have put the top ornament with the hook area pointing upwards instead of down but it is what it is now. Haha!
As much as I love the new Della and she is beautiful, M&B will remain my favorite. The air of sophistication around that first Della is just something else.

I drive by this truck all the time and they decorate it for every season. I missed the fall decorations and thought I better finally stop and get a shot of the Christmas ones! This truck makes me smile. It is definitely a joy shared. :)

Our tradition is gathering up the family in our warmest clothes and going to cut down that perfect Christmas tree. Afterwards, we get hot cocoa and a hot meal. It is the perfect time to spend time with the family. :)
20 o0f 25 Days of Christmas
‘Twas a Month Before Christmas 2020
T’was a month before Christmas,
And all through the town,
People wore masks,
That covered their frown.
The frown had begun
Way back in the Spring,
When a global pandemic
Changed everything.
They called it corona,
But unlike the beer,
It didn’t bring good times,
It didn’t bring cheer.
Contagious and deadly,
This virus spread fast,
Like a wildfire that starts
When fueled by gas.
Airplanes were grounded,
Travel was banned.
Borders were closed
Across air, sea and land.
As the world entered lockdown
To flatten the curve,
The economy halted,
And folks lost their verve.
From March to July
We rode the first wave,
People stayed home,
They tried to behave.
When summer emerged
The lockdown was lifted.
But away from caution,
Many folks drifted.
Now it’s November
And cases are spiking,
Wave two has arrived,
Much to our disliking.
Frontline workers,
Doctors and nurses,
Try to save people,
From riding in hearses.
This virus is awful,
This COVID-19.
There isn’t a cure.
There is no vaccine.
It’s true that this year
Has had sadness a plenty,
We’ll never forget
The year 2020.
And just ‘round the corner –
The holiday season,
But why be merry?
Is there even one reason?
To decorate the house
And put up the tree,
When no one will see it,
No-one but me.
But outside my window
The snow gently falls,
And I think to myself,
Let’s deck the halls!
So, I gather the ribbon,
The garland and bows,
As I play those old carols,
My happiness grows.
Christmas ain’t cancelled
And neither is hope.
If we lean on each other,
I know we can cope.

My husband and my little nephew are seen here helping the parents cut down their tree. They are not physically able to do it themselves anymore. Doing things for others, no matter how small could be the biggest thing to that person. You never know. Give a little each day. :)
Fun Fact: If you were wondering what was on my nephew's head? He is wearing my brother-in-law's head piece from his fire turn out gear. He wants to be like his daddy when he grows up! My husband too is one of a 4th generation fire fighter. So proud. The whole family of men are firefighters. When tones drop on their radios the whole house of men is cleared out in an instant! There has been several times when I got left somewhere and had to call for a ride home or had to eat dinner alone on the holiday because a fire call rang out. It is hard being a fire fighter's wife but....its worth every moment. It is a small price to pay to have my husband there for someone in need. He is their hero and mine.
