So this week's Macro Monday's theme is a member's choice: 'wet', which for whatever reason made me think of my golfing waterproof's - designed to keep me from getting wet. I trust the photo still makes the grade ;-)
An object that is always in my bag, or wherever else I go. This glitter covered case was only a couple of pounds and has served me well so far. HMM!
Micro (macro) of the business end of a knife hone for the group Macro Mondays and this week's theme: "Member’s Choice—Utensils."
In the first comment box below is a photo of the knife hone from which the micro was made.

Aluminium looks such a cold material when photographed that I thought it's be interesting to light this utensils pot by placing a candle inside as the only source of light and wham! instant warm tones and great detail.
The life cycle or life history of Butterflies and Moths is:- The Egg or Ovum, The Caterpillar or Larva, The Chrysalis or Pupa and finally the Adult Butterfly or Moth - this incredible insect came to rest on the window ledge.
My friends, I've used the following commentary before. I think it bears repeating...
I'm reflecting on my attachment to that Straight Arrow pointing at the hour. I went to my shelves and pulled a book I love on "the way of the Algonquin people" by Evan Pritchard entitled "No Word for Time." On pages 11 and following he says, "There is no word for time in the Micmac language, nor in most Algonquin tongues. You can't say it.... The way time is dealt with in Algonquin speech teaches us that time is relative and elusive in nature, just as Einstein proved, and as quantum researchers are discovering. There is no concept of time outside its embodiments in the things of nature....
"I can't count the number of Algonquin people I've known who have never worn watches in their lives. This is no small point.... A watch reminds you of the demands of others....
"New Year's Day is the day of the new moon when the creek freezes, the first day of winter, but that is an actual event. You can see it for yourself. It is honored with a feast, and usually falls right about Thanksgiving.... There is no description of time separate from events."
'Nuf said! I could go on and quote more but I won't! ;-) Evan also says (p 28), "Reading is not living...." :D
So I'm asking myself, "How am I celebrating the first day of autumn?" TV weather said that for us in southern California fall will start at 8:09 pm on September 21!!! Can you imagine? 8:09 pm! Down to the minute! What does the minute matter?!!!
And my answer to myself is, "I'm celebrating the first day of autumn by posting this image. ;-)
Thank you all so much for all your inspiring and celebratory sharing every day, my dear Flickr friends!

Macro Mondays. September 9, 2013 ~ Member’s Choice—Time.
Happy Macro Monday!
This week I tried to capture the same object, but in two different ways. I took this photo of the chives plant in the garden. I noticed the curly end of a stem and thought it looked interesting against the background.

This week I tried to capture the same object, but in two different ways. I took this photo of the chives plant indoors. I liked the rigidity of the stem which was supporting the bud.
