I know this isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I just love doing ICM's and multiple exposures and having the surprise of how they end up looking when I upload them. Here I was walking down by the Lonsdale Quay - there are still people there, but it's so much quieter since Covid.
This was done in camera - an ICM taken with my Lensbaby Velvet 56.
It's fun to zoom in and see all the details.

What started as a quick trip to the recycling center turned into a right place - right time photo shoot. FWIW our weather frogs' forecast had called for only "a slight chance of light showers."

Le quartier de Galata est dominé par la Tour de Galata d'Istanbul, Turquie. Une vue à partir du bateau de croisière, avant le départ.
La Tour de Galata se situe proche de la rue Istiklal, sur la rive européenne, dans le quartier de Galata, qui est aujourd’hui un quartier du district de Beyoglu, au nord de la Corne d’or. Cette tour d’observation a été construite par les Génois en 1348, elle avait pour but de surveiller les flottes commerciales. Elle porte aussi le nom de Christea Turris (tour du christ).
En 1453 le sultan Mehmet II fit du sommet de la tour un poste d’observation pour signaler les incendies. Sous Soliman le Magnifique la tour servit de prison puis de tour d’observation astrologique sur Murat III.
En 1632, sous le règne de Murat IV, un homme du nom de Herzarfen Ahmed Celebi s’élança de la Tour de Galata et plana jusqu’à la rive asiatique grâce à des ailes qui l’avait lui-même confectionné. Cet événement créa une grande sensation dans l’empire. Murat IV voulu le récompenser, mais les chefs religieux et les conseillers du palais lui firent changer d’avis et Hezarfen fût exilé en ce qui est aujourd’hui l’Algérie, où il mourut à l’âge de 31 ans.
Entre 1964 et 1967 il fut réalisé de gros travaux de rénovation dont la création d’un restaurant et d’une salle de spectacle au dernier étage.
