Exposition de Mehdi-Georges Lahlou au Delta (Namur, Wallonie).
Je suis sensible à la lutte de cet artiste contre les stéréotypes ethniques, religieux et genrés ainsi qu'à son hommage, qu'il rend par le biais de fusains très noirs (si noirs qu'il faut être tout près, face à eux pour en distinguer des détails), aux Marocains morts, victimes de l'utilisation du gaz moutarde, pendant la guerre du Rif.
Dans les vidéos de l'exposition, l'artiste met en image les performeur-euse-s queers Diwe Augustin-Clave, Dr Lady J et CHIMI Nature en leur prêtant la mémoire des palmiers.

I am sensitive to this artist’s struggle against ethnic, religious, and gender stereotypes, as well as to the tribute he pays to Moroccans who died as victims of the use of mustard gas during the Rif War. This tribute takes the form of very dark charcoal drawings, so dark that one must stand very close, directly facing them, in order to make out any details.
In the exhibition’s videos, the artist gives visual form to the queer performers Diwe Augustin-Clave, Dr Lady J, and CHIMI Nature, entrusting them with the memory of palm trees.

M-City, de son vrai nom Mariusz Waras, est polonais. A l’origine concepteur de jeux vidéo, il est happé par le street-art au début des années 90. Il peint en général au pochoir des objets industriels, trains, navires, voitures, usines, cheminées, mécanismes... qui sont la plupart du temps une critique à l’égard des Hommes.
M-City est resté assez longtemps à Erriadh, il a eu le temps de faire un peu de « Hors-Piste ». Sur les neuf fresques réalisées, les cinq qui se trouvent en ville était toujours présentes fin 2015.

Sébastien and his dog Belle were the main characters in the French TV series Belle et Sébastien/Belle and Sebastian (1965) and its sequels Sébastien parmi les hommes (1968). In Sébastien et la Mary-Morgane (1970) Belle has died of old age, but Sébastien falls in love with another dog. During the summer holidays, Sébastien is sent to his great-uncle Louis in Bretagne (Charles Vanel), an eccentric captain of a fishing vessel, named the Mary-Morgane. In the contact with the uncle's servants Jonathan and Clarisse, and the daughter of the uncle's associate, Sébastien hears about the uncle's past as resistance fighter and his loss of his wife and son...
The three Sébastien series were also edited into feature films. Before becoming director of the series, Cécile Aubry had been a shining star of the French cinema in the late 1940s and 1950s. The cute star of the Sébastien series, Mehdi El Glaoui, was Aubry's own son from her marriage to the son of the pasha of Marrakech. Unforgettable is the beautiful theme L'oiseau (The Bird) sung by the then 8-year-old Bruno Victoire Polius, at the time solo singer at the choir Petits Chanteurs d'Asnières. The record of the song sold more than 1.6 million times. In 1970, Bruno Victoire Polius would join the French pop sensation Les Poppys in 1970. In 1975, he went solo and today he still performs.
